You also broke the terms and conditions by not having someone there to receive the delivery.

That is very true, however what should happen in this case is outlined in the terms

"If you miss your delivery you will be charged for the costs incurred."

This wasn't followed, the item was instead delivered to a different person.

    ….or so they say op....amirite?

For all you know they might not have delivered it at all!

Or your neighbour has had it....

Either way one of them can be trusted!

Just out of curiosity (and it may or may not be important) why is a bedside cabinet needed so urgently?

Not being funny, but a bedside table is used on a daily (or nightly) basis, and some might argue for at least 25% of your life (assuming 6hrs sleep a night) for things such as putting your bedside drink, book or photo frames on....

    How isn’t it urgent?

    Amirite op?

This isn't relevent to a company breaking their own T&C's, the customers neccessity of an item doesn't come up at all.

You've got me worried now. I don't have a bedside table, I'm going to bed in a couple of hours and I don't know where I'd make the urgent purchase in time. My phone, lamp and book can't just levitate. Help!!

You don't have a bedside table?! GET ONE ASAP or you're screwed!!

Think Brexit food shortages, but next week and not March.... It's going to be madness if you haven't gone one already!

Fair play to OP for getting one urgently, very sensible.

Taking your situation seriously, though, OP (I don't trust you either but that's a personal opinion)....

Firstly, what has the company said? What is their position in this matter?

Secondly, if there is an impasse then you'll literally have to take the company to small claims court (send a "letter before action" first to request a resolution within a fair amount of time). If they haven't contacted the courier and raised an investigation on their end then they MAY be caught with their pants down, but there's lots of potential intricacies here which could sway it either way (really doesn't help when you drip-feed people information).

Aside from that, I wish you good luck. I haven't been bothered about looking into your past posts, but if the mattress issue brought up earlier is true then you do sound dodgy and potentially running a fraud.

Talking of fraud, you probably wouldn't be frowned upon by contacting the police if you feel that a neighbor is stealing deliveries. You'll also get a crime reference number and that would be more likely to convince the company that your item was not delivered to YOU. But be wary if you are dodgy, as there is an off-chance that the police would investigate...

Indeed. I did say it may not be important but as others have said your evasiveness comes across as being smellier than Billingsgate market.
