After over 8 years, and my ex-landlord is now threatening to take to court.

My ex-landlord has just phoned my mum demanding my number, apparently she is threatening to take me to court over a dog that I didn't have causing damage. This is absolutely ridiculous as I moved out of the place over 8 years ago.
Am I right in thinking that she is totally wrong, there have been tenants since I was there, and it's way past the time she can do anything. I'm even wondering how many others she's tried this with!!

If she's claiming the damage was caused during your tenancy then she is out of time and is statute-barred from bringing court action.0

I thought so, thank you ☺stupid thing is, I didn't even have a dog!0

Is she complaining that the dog has been buried in the garden?0

String her along for as long as possible, hopefully shell think twice before trying to jump on the next tenant.0

Ohhh right hehe.
No mum refused to give her my number or my address, she actually said that I was in Spain for at least couple more months, that should put them off for a while. I have told her that if they phone again, to tell them that it's statute barred, and that if they phone again, we'll take them to court for harassment.0 -

Dont do that, you are missing out on some free fun. The answer should be "cool, file the court papers and I'll happily defend myself and win". Ball is in their (losing) court now. Job done.0
