Since installing wi-fi calling on my S8+, I keep getting an IMS notification on the top left of the screen. This takes the form of a telephone logo, and when I swipe down the message says:

'IMS Service Vodafone wifi call'

This happens all the time, whether or not I'm on the phone. I swipe it away, but it comes back sooner or later, although I've neither made nor received a phone call.

I have spoken to Vodafone tech support on three different occasions. Two of them told me they could fix it their end (but whatever action they took did not work). The third one told me it's a Samsung issue, and is nothing to do with Vodafone.

Does anyone understand what I need to do to get rid of the notification? What do I need to do?

Annie, do you know that there is a board dedicated to mobile telephones?

Surely it's just a notification that you have it enabled. Disable WiFi calling and it should disappear.

Not sure what the advantage is of having it enabled. Unlimited minutes now and the ability to use other messaging services for calling, if you need to use wifi, make it a bit of a gimmick IMO.
I take it you are with Vodafone....

    Yes, I'm with Vodafone.

I enabled wifi calling as my signal is not too good, and I kept getting cut off.

Very useful when you have no mobile signal - but if this is in your own house then it is best to buy a femtocell boost box

If you don't want wifi calling ( and this the notification to disappear,) call 191, state to the IVR 'wifi calling' and ask tech support to cancel wifi calling on your device and SIM.

ETA: Re-reading the thread, you actually want wifi calling, and why not, the notification is there to point out when it is available to you, presumably leave wi-fi coverage and it disappears.

Can you not just turn off the notification?

    To clarify:

Yes, I specifically want wifi calling, and asked for it to be turned on.

There is a little phone symbol on the right of the top menu bar (next to the phone signal bars). This one is OK as it tells me that cwifi calling is enabled and available.

However, in addition to this, I get another little phone symbol on the left of the top menu bar (in the same area where I get email and text notifications when I receive an email, text, WhatsApp etc). When I pull this down, I get the IMS noification at random times. It comes and goes when it wants to! It is nothing to do with whether or not I'm in range of wifi. I don't think it should be there as it behaves in a random way. I can't see any reasons why I would need two ways to let me know wifi calling is enabled.

Does anyone else have wifi calling enabled on a Galaxy S8+?
