So where are you seeing this banner, Streaky Bacon?
(as I see no warning even if I set them as my current supplier)
This is what I see in CEC today.
EDIT: It's clear from Companies House that there was a notice for strike off, as their accounts were almost a year late, but then they filed them a couple of days later.
CEC is clearly working off the original notice. But, if that is CEC's currently understanding, it does beg the question of why they would list any tariff from the company.0 -

So no the company isn't being struck off.Streaky_Bacon wrote: »This is what I see in CEC today.

That's a company caller Simplicity, not SOLARPLICITY which is the subject of this thread0 -

Po-tay-toe, Po-tar-toe :rotfl:
It still begs the question of why CEC are listing the company but...yes...probably not 100% relevant to this thread.0 -

I would suggest it's 100% irrelevant to this thread
As regards why CEC still offer the supplier, see post#21 above
As regards why the CEC were so quick to post such a warning, yet almost a month later when it was obviously not, or at least, no longer appropriate, it still remains, I have asked the question of MSE for you here:

Of course, just an attempt at humourBiscuit_Tin wrote: »As regards why CEC still offer the supplier, see post#21 above

Well, there are properly two questions.
1) Why are they posting out of date info?
2) Why are they listing the supplier if they BELIEVE that they are to be struck off (regardless of whether that is true)?0 -
I missed the thread title (opps) but I did find the company which was under question so posted the details from Companies House.
Agreed it should be in its own thread.0 -
Slightly bemused where this thread has gone.
Anyway, SOLARPLICITY won't be appearing in any price comparison sites, CEC or otherwise, as they've been banned from taking on new customers for three months since 22nd Feb.
I'm in the process of attempting to move away. We'll see how it goes...0 -
Where do I start with Solarplicity? What an absolutely dreadful an incompetent company. Like others, I joined them because Ebico discontinued their no standing charge tariff.
I also got the impression they are an African company. Whenever I spoke to anyone, it was definitely either a South African (Afrikaans accent) or a black African accent.
Solarplicity persuaded me to have smart meters installed, which after seeing a friend have them installed by EON I was quite impressed. This is where the problems started.
My smart meters didn't work and were unable to send any readings. I never received the in-home display.
All my electricity and gas bills were estimated. I then noticed on my online account the gas bills were being estimated on the meter that had been removed.
I was being billed for a meter that was no longer in my property!
Don't even bother to email them, they just ignore them and don't reply.
I called them time and time again, losing my temper on a few occasions. Each and every time they said it would be dealt with when it was ignored. They gave excuse after excuse.
I finally had had enough of them and decided to switch. But I couldn't switch because my gas meter hadn't be registered on the national database.
Finally, in early February I registered my complaint with the Ombudsman. Tonight I had my reply...
Solarplicity failed to update their systems with my new gas meter since it was installed in September 2018. They failed to take any action to resolve my complaints despite numerous emails and calls. Due to their errors, they failed to commission my smart meter which meant the meters could not communicate with the company, resulting in estimated readings not reflective of my actual usage.
Also, the ombudsman says "I must acknowledge that I would not expect it to take six months for a supplier to update an account with details of a meter exchange."
Ombudsman is scathing of Solarplicity.
Ombudsman has told them...
1. Update its systems to show my old meter was removed and the new one installed.
2. Bill me up to the present account readings
3. Update the national database to show the meter is installed in my property.
4. A written letter of apology.
5. Goodwill gesture of financial compensation.
They have 28 days to comply. I will not be surprised if they ignore this decision based on my previous experience with them.
DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY - THEY NEED TO BE SHUT-DOWN.
I'd rather pay higher bills than use this company.

I signed up to Loco2Energy in December 2016. It seems they got taken over by Solarplicity in Feb 2018. I'd been paying £82.04 a month since December 2016 - in April 2018 Solarplicity suddenly decided I owed them £449 a month, claiming that I'd been undercharged for over a year. They fitted a meter that doesn't work and I'm convinced it's dodgy.
Today I got a letter from them threatening action if I don't pay them another £441.61. But they're still taking £449 a month from me, last paid on 15th March! So I looked into my bills over the past few years.
In 2016 I paid E-On a total of £1867.
Since December 17 I've paid Loco/Solarplicity the grand total of £6454.
That's around £3000 a year.
This can't be right - I know that energy prices have gone up but this is almost double what I was paying E-On!
Could the meter be dodgy - or is it just Solarplicity ripping me off big time?
Help! I'm not sure what to do next!0
