Morning everyone! Nice to see you back lil_me and thanks to pigpen for stepping in so well in your absence.

Had a late night last night as was asked to babysit ("we promise we won't be late cos we have to get up early for work tomorrow") and low and behold, I didn't get home til midnight! I warned the supply agency that I wouldn't be available for the morning cos of the babysitting (I'd guessed that they would be later than they said), and they forgot, so I got a call at 7.30am asking if I was free. The girl did appologise though when I reminded her, but I couldn't get back to sleep again, so I got up. She said she will try to find something for this avo for me.

Serena, I'm glad I've inspired you to do supply. Although I've found it quite hard work, it is nowhere near as hectic as being a full time teacher, cos on the whole, the lesson plans are done for you, and you also don't have to worry about setting targets etc and a lot of paperwork. I'm thinking that once I've got my NQT year out of the way (if I can find a job that covers this period), that I may do supply for a while, as the money is good, and you can choose when you are free to work, so you could easily take a mid-term holiday if you wanted to. The only downside is that you don't get paid for half terms and holidays which you would do in a full time position, although I guess you may be able to find a summer job.

Nice to see so many new flyers, and also some familiar faces. Hope everyone is ok, and that we don't have too many poorly flyers. I'm embarassed to say that I've been letting my flying slip lately, so I'm going to make a valiant effort to get off my bum and do the kitchen this morning after making up a packed lunch just in case I get called out this avo.

    Take care everyone!

Hello - long time, no posting by me! Long time FLYers may remember I moved house a few days before Christmas last year to a much bigger house that needs a lot of work. Been to busy to post for a long time. I was keeping on top of the house until we started the building works a few weeks ago, and now we have thick layers of brick and plaster dust on everything.

It will be worth it in the end - I nearly cried when we found the original fireplace arches under the plaster in the first two rooms! I have spent the last three days carting rubble into a skip (OH does the skilled stuff, I labour, LO's get ignored) and now need to do the full in depth clean so that we arent sat surrounded by dirt tonight. OH has gone back to work for a well deserved rest, ds1 is at school, ds2 at home with me but happily entertaining himself.

Still sticking to the principles - dont switch the computer on till me n the boys are dressed, the DW and WM are on, and the floor is clear. I think today I need to do a Penelople Penguin style 15 minutes in each room till I clear the worst of it. Lots of damp dusting I suspect - time for my trusty microfibre cloths.

Any suggestions on how to get dust out of the buttons on a Chesterfield sofa? One of the boys knocked the dust sheet off and it is filthy.

  • Glad it's the kitchen today as mine somehow looks like a bombsite after the weekend. How did that happen? Also i need to spend some time in the attic as I started decluttering yesterday and somehow made the attic and all of the bedrooms look ten times worse. Not sure how I did that either!!

Just put DS2 for a nap, had good intentions of doing kitchen till he is asleep and then having a shower.. but... started looking at sea horse web sites online.

Hubby fancies a fish tank for living room. He doesn't care whats in it, which is good as I am the fish keeper so I'd be choosing. Anyway, there is a very nice marine tank going... and I have always wanted to keep sea horses... lots of research first though.

I have dusted and polished the living room though!
  • Morning Everyone

Just come to get the list for today, I've already done a load of washing and a small pile of ironing.

Mr T's has delivered my food shop, the lovely driver brought it all into my kitchen and helped me unpack it - bless him!! (He's been very good to me the last few weeks after my operation). I'll miss him next week when I go back to work.;)

Anyway feeling very motivated today, kitchen is going to get a very "deep clean".

Just need to get a drink and put some music on & I'll be on me way!!

    See you later peeps :D

    Hello

catznine - all the best to your friend
    Rach that's really sad :(
LMS that's very good of him, it's all I can do to get mine up to the door, I even take the bags out of the baskets most times :D

Been and done my errands but didn't quite stick to the plan OR the list I took with me. :D Two more Xmas pressies bought and paid for though ;) and got my £10 Argos gift voucher taboot yay! I forgot to pop into the wardrobe shop and I wouldn't care it's right underneath Asda, I was on top of it! shopping is all over my nice clean benches and just made a sarnie so it's back to normal again now, 5 mins and all will be cleared though.

I need to look back through the thread for my list cause I've forgotten what else I'm meant to do.

Here it is, it's bigger than I remember :(:D

    My list:

    hoover through
    make beds
    weekly shop
    buy gas/elec
    pay rent
put in for another repair at the council
go and see wardrobe people (they still haven't delivered the plinth)
order and pay for littleys Christmas present (cabin bed lol - it's what she wanted  )
pop to Morrisons for Diesel/few bits
    do pigsback
    empty DW
