Today I am grateful for going for a run first thing and for dd accompanying me on her bike, for a warm day, for watching the rest of Star Wars VIII and enjoying the references to episodes IV, V, and VI, for a chilled afternoon at a pottery painting place (but 'how much????' to the cost!!!), for parking on the street for free and walking the last 10 mins to the pottery place, for dh trotting off this morning to get some shopping.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hi all :j
Congratulations mothernerd I bet that feels great!! Also well done on standing your ground with your family.
Didn't manage to post yesterday as I didn't feel I'd done anything towards my aims & it would be too depressing to list the non-achievements. However, am back on here today as if I didn't post, I would just find it easier not to keep posting...
F Food Expenditure Aiming for £225 for the month, down from about £275.. already done a bit of spending so no NSDs as yet. Shopping already spent £139.56/225 . Probably have broken the budget on this one but to be fair I have made a decent reduction I am sure. Could do more if I wasn't always pressed into going to the shops with DD..
E Excursions and entertainment should be planned. ...only the hol next week planned & DH wants to go to some Exhibition in Manchester so that is in the next couple of months.
B Budgets None set as yet - other than food - & all DDs already out.
U Useful leftovers Will also carry on with frogs. Did make a list last night before bed & was happy to have crossed off a few things today, including some frogs.
A Aim to take your lunch
Don't work outside the home other than volunteer at a CS but will aim to take snacks/lunch/etc when we go out. Didn't eat whilst out but waited till we got home, sandwich then. Will do.
R Remind yourself Line dried washing, space outside & freedom to be myself.
Y You should pay your debt or savings first Have no debt other than a cc paid off in full each month. However, savings needed for dental work & also for house renovations, so will take care of that. Paid back joint account for dental work again. Will make another payment after this post. Large payment due tomorrow for dental work though this 'should' be it now. All done now till July but that's just a check up. Now have to start on DHs teeth.
S Spend Free Days SFDs now 11/18
U Use it up Keep using up what we have, have done some shopping already but should only need fresh F&V & bread, plus animals food/litter. Made Swedish style supper with YS meatballs, mash, ss peas & made own cream sauce, plus well OOD lingonberry jam....
R Regular check ins Mostly here
V Cards only .. in the nut household. Well it should have been but a plant mysteriously appeared with the card!
I Indoors/outdoors My only regular exercise is gardening, which I try to do most days. More chopping down outside, well now the side rockery has appeared, not sure how long it is since we last saw it as we don't tend to go round that side much. Useful as we discovered a drain that needs attention, it was concealed by the greenery. Hope we can fix it before it becomes a problem. DH set on going out again tomorrow, he is a man on a mission...
Indoors - being a hermit. Some more of the complex knitting stuff done, just realised I made an error in the pattern (colour). Will just knit the other side to match (design feature). Just a small amount of complex knitting as I have to write out every row, did watch some rugby too.
V Vending machines etc Rarely use but do have the occasional takeaway as part of family meal. Maybe once a month, but no plans so far. Had family meal out yesterday, no plans for a takeaway AFAIK. None planned .
A Advance planning This is a problem for me, I don't plan in advance but decide what to have on an almost daily basis. Already got out what is for supper tomorrow, must be a record. Need to plan what to have for the rest of the week as we are away after that & DD will not use up what's in.
Garden prep has been ongoing but have to think ahead & prioritise some things. Hope I can get some seeds in before hols, but they won't get watered whilst we're away so have to remember that. Have soaked some seeds now need to plant in green house. Have finally cut down last years raspberry canes.

Hi all:j
Just a quick post. I'm packing for my city break, leaving at 11.30am. I had BFs 50th birthday party last night and we had a fabulous time. The next few days will not be overly frugal. However the challenge I set myself at the start of the month to save enough spending money for my city break has been successful. Thanks to this thread and the motivation provided. Once again thank you. :happyhear:happyhear

Think of all the beauty still left all around you and be happy. Anne Frank.
She packed up her potential and and all she had learned, grabbed a cute pair of shoes and headed out to change a few things.

Once upon a time there was a cup of tea, a good book and a piece of chocolate. They lived happily ever after.
I'm out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out. (minions again).

Hello :hello:
Just enjoying one final day of sitting on my bum before heading back to school tomorrow morning. In some ways this holiday has flown over and in others it feels like ages since I was at work. No idea why I still feel so tired though (maybe it's drink related from yesterday). It is the case though that the less you do, the less you feel like doing.
I woke up at half past five this morning and have gotten a few bits done. The washing machine is still busy, I've tidied a bit, sorted next week's lunches and done a bit more crochet. I still have to do the cat trays and get the kids to do their bedrooms but it's been a bit productive so far.
Had an amazing day out with my sister yesterday - it was lovely to spend some time with her and worth every penny I spent. The partly mse thing is that it was a fixed price unlimited prosecco thing...Hopefully this new start will continue.
Starting to think ahead to next month. I've tried to keep the faith this month in spite of being so busy and the holiday. Next month does include my birthday but finances are not going to allow any major celebrations. No matter - it's more important that I'm with my friends and family. Looks as though it's going to be another tight one though... Ah well - I'm getting used to it now. Has anyone volunteered to run the March thread as yet?Not giving up
