mothernerd - that is because it is not hurting him.

Well, the weekend is here, DH is pressing the flesh at work, so no himself until 2pm. So the clutter busting continues. I wonder if everyone thinks 'if there was just one more room in this house, everything would be tidy' ? or if I would just tidy the rest of the house and use the last room to store all the junk in. I dunno.
So, 5 days til payday and £70 in the bank. NSDs are still only on 10. Can't be brilliant every month, after all, nobody knew the boiler needed work, or the car was going to start screaming. Hopefully that is it over now for another good long while.

Grateful for: soup, books, cheap football club at half term, half term, GCSE revision workbooks.

  • Mothernerd: excellent progress. Hope the garden gets cleared soon. I like your firm attitude with those two, well done for sticking to your guns.

Well, last week is done with and that's as much as I can say about it. Off out with a friend today which I'm really looking forward to. Still on 10 NSDs.

Just checking in. Busy week at work but took lunch every day as normal, didn’t always get chance to eat it though. NSD another 5 this week. Using all food up in the freezer and quite pleased with myself. Sorted a lot of frogs and due to do some overtime this weekend which should help with the lack of wage this month. It’s great reading all your posts.

Mothernerd - I'm so pleased that you got some help from ds3 and beloved to get the house a bit more sorted, and I hope that it feels better once the rubbish has gone today. I felt like a new woman after I hired a skip a couple of years ago. :D
I'm still relaxing and gently preparing myself for going back to work on Monday. I've done very little this half term but I feel as though it's been much needed in terms of my mental health. I feel quite good within myself at the moment which is a bonus (as long as I push the separation stress out of my mind) so I might get stuff done - who knows.
I am going out with my sister this afternoon for a boozy afternoon tea. I don't get many social events that cost money, and I have enough left from the holiday to pay for it. I'm looking forward to good company, good food and a good catch up. I can't remember the last time just the two of us did something together. Not much else to report - I have no idea how many nsd's I have or how many frogs I've dealth with, but I'll do what I always do - just keep trying.

Had a takeaway last night but it won't actually cost us anything as DH got £30 from work at Christmas, we have to pay and claim back but still a freebie, we came in 30p under.

Been out today to Penistone Hill then into Haworth, it was really nice to combine a moorland walk with the village and no parking woes either which is a big problem in Haworth. We bought some bakery items and a portion of chips at lunchtime but took our own drinks. That's it for half term spending now, tomorrow is about getting organised for school and work etc.

I finish at my temporary job on Tuesday, it's all a bit awkward as I've been there 6 months and the lady that is coming back was only there 4 weeks and that was 7 months ago, it was a new post and I have set the whole job up and am now having to train her. Oh well, will have the rest of next week off to catch up on cycling and housework then will start looking for a new job.

Well the two little men have been and gone. They phoned to say they had 2 house moves and could they do mine tomorrow. I agreed, wrote little notes for 3 sets of neighbours so they knew what was happening. Came back in and they phoned again to say they would come and do my job and do the second house move tomorrow. (the firm has been a little ditzy all along).

When they arrived, they wanted to haggle the price up because of the 'weight' of the items. He offered to take any cardboard and other rubbish for the extra money. So I paid the extra 20 but pulled out all the bin bags full of polystyrene and packaging hidden under the garden table (waiting until I had space in the bin) and grabbed a large picture frame that was in the kitchen (something else I had plans for - learning to let go of projects that no longer interest you or you don't have time for is an important part of the process).

Not hurting a lot but I am feeling fragile - despite sugar free cough medicine and chest rub I still could not find a comfortable sleeping position and ending up sitting up and reading (relaxing but not as good as sleep).

However I have consigned another 5 cardboard boxes to the paper bin and have started cutting up a very large one, taken 2 bags of cans, bottles and jars to the brown bin, gathered up small bits of rubbish and decanted a large bin bag into 2 tiny bags by squashing things in, collected a fat handful of junk mail from the detritus in the front room and am putting together things for the next cs bag.

Today I am grateful for getting rid of some junk (mostly pre-used when it came into my house and done many years of service and was rejected by the cs), for having a day to rest and recuperate and for still making a few tiny improvements.

    - Just like Himself and the Boy. I have long conversations with them about things and then they profess they don't remember a thing about them.

Quiet day here today. Bit of shopping (stuck strictly to the list), bit of washing (all dried outside), bit of tidying and some rubbish thrown out.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
  • Goodness, Mothernerd, you are doing well. I'm inspired to get into that front room and start clearing but I'd better wait till I see the Boy (some things he wants to take to his place). However, tomorrow I'm going to have a good poke around.

Yeay to people taking rubbish away! :T - I bet it feels good to have it gone in one fell swoop, mothernerd :)

Lovely sunny day here. Stripped our bed and line dried it - whoop! Still need to wash the top throw - it's like a thin duvet and whilst it would probably just fir into our wm, the wm has a tendency to 'eat' things (ie: rip them)if it feels it's too full.... So will take a morning trip to the launderette one sunny day in the week:)

Persuaded DS3 to help me sort some things in his room- we sorted through all of his drawings and school work and some went in the recycling and the rest has all been sorted in plastic wallets - much neater. A handful of too-young books have also been identified to go and I cleaned his windows inside and out (they were really dirty! :o) and we sorted the top shelf of his wardrobe out and also the shelves under his bed. Still need to do his desk and the attached shelves and then we're done :) (did his clothes earlier in the month) DS2 has agreed we will tackle his room in the Easter break (waaaaay too big a job for a weekend, especially with the amount of homework he gets)

Other than that, I've baked a loaf and done various admin tasks and OH has been to Tesc0 for lunchbox items and some veg for dinner tonight and then he's spent the afternoon/ early evening watching the rugby..... least said about that, the better! :rotfl:

In the space of about 10 minutes I've managed to book 2 nights out next month! Ooops! One can be for my birthday (out with bestie) and the other is with friends from school who I see once in a blue moon - haven't seen a couple of them in probably 20 years! So I'll allow myself that one, too :D

Today I am grateful for line dried washing (the best!), a lovely day, the promise of Spring, seeing various bulbs flowering in the garden, DS3 being super helpful with his room, waking up wide awake at 6.15!
