as for excatly what my esa letter says that is it front cover has a little info on limited capability for work then down teh bottom it has 2 little paragraphs top one is work related activity group part with a little circl not ticked then underneath support group with explaination and teh circle ticked, inside future assesment info with date given april 2019 teh a bit on medical cets the section saying your new rate of benefit.small cirlce ticked support group then typed in small your rate of benefit from 16-4-2016 will be 168.45 pounds per week under this work related activity gp all blank and circle not ticked the page goes on about wrong decisions improvement changes help etc.

Not sure if this will help here but other person posted on another part of the forum.
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5956560/mod-army-pension

As in "i have a small mod pension of 2,399.95 pounds per year before tax army is 1702.17 pounds per year before tax (taken from p60 2016)"

So they are a former member of the armed forces.

Of course, the question they asked in that thread, 'i am supposed to be taxed' might have produced a different answer had it been known that the OP was resident abroad.

antrobus,i am ex army i left in 1988 i have an ill health pension from the army and civil service which i got about 2007 if my memory serves me well.i made 2 separate questions as to me they are not related to my carers allowance etc.the other day i had a rep from the local british legion round and it was them who pointed out the tax question on my pensions so hence teh question in that section, did i put it in the wrong place or shouldi have mentioned that with my question on esa ca etc¿

I'm sorry but none of this makes any sense to me. What we need to know is a breakdown of exactly how much you're claiming and it will tell you this in the award letter.

You must be claiming Contributions based with some income related top up but because you're living abroad then you're not entitled to the Income related top up. Even the Income related top up doesn't make any sense.

    thats why am on here:j
ok here goes in short hand
left uk 2000 was on incapacity benefit which was allowed
army and civil service pension about 2011
incapacity to esa change 2012-13 went through whole process to courts letter from dwp about appeal confirmed this with date 23-2-13 at 168.45 per week nothing else the section whre it is supose to say how it is worked out is blank only at teh total down teh bottom it says again 168.45 pounds this was a form ipc su 1063 esa 05/12
esa letter 13-5-2013 confirming what has been said in i am in the support group case review on 9-5-15 amount 168.45 pounds pw no break down
esa confirmation again 25-4-16 i am in support group next rev april 2019
new rate under support group from 16-4-16 will be 168.45 pounds.

pip letter 27-2-18 yearly update informs me current total amount 55.65 pw and on 9-4-18 new amount will be 57.30 pw
pip was stopped in july 2018 now waiting for court appeal date

army illhealth pension and civil service pension
    child benefit x1 child
thats all the info i have,on esa nothing ihas been broken down on paper to say anything
pip was standard rate by court of appeal
all this is known to dwp esa dept and pip as they have sent me for medicals and sent letters to me here and phoned me so ther is no fake info.
i have talked to other people but they seem to get confused as i am over here and they dont understand why i get the esa pip.
so lets hope this clears up a lot..:o

I'm sorry but your ESA amount makes no sense to me because you must be claiming Contributions based with an Income related top up. You're not entitled to the top up as you're not living in the UK and this is that part that i'm confused with.

Even if carers allowance could be paid while living abroad, no one can claim it for you right now because there's no PIP daily living award and this is needed for the carers allowance.

Others maybe able to help but i'm afraid i'm out.

Could the amount be a reflection of transitional protection from when the o p change from Incapacity Benefit to ESA ?
