Carer's Allowance Eligibility
https://www.gov.uk/carers-allowance/eligibility- you’ve been in England, Scotland or Wales for at least 2 of the last 3 years (this does not apply if you’re a refugee or have humanitarian protection status)
- you normally live in England, Scotland or Wales, or you live abroad as a member of the armed forces

Even if you lived in the UK you need daily living PIP award to be able to claim the carers allowance.0

I presume you are in receipt of contribution based (CB) ESA, and live in a EEA country?
The £168 you quote is:
Your ESA........................................................ £110
Your PIP - Daily Living at the standard rate.... £58
You are unable to get an Income Based top up to your CB ESA as this is not paid (ongoing) to claimants living abroad.
Is this correct?
I don't understand this ".was on pip but went through the abc routine now at court of appeal stage would ca or anything else come from that?"
Can you explain further please.
The information given by antrobus setting out eligibility to CA would suggest CA won't be payable unless your carer is a member of the armed forces.
Was that your question?
Have you contacted the DWP, and what have they said?Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
hi thanks for the quick reply,i used to get standard rate for pip unitl it stopped in july 2018 for renewal, now at court of appeal stage, but i dont know if i got CA with the pip,it was about 55 pounds pw.when i was on incapacity i did get CA for my wife.am more bothered it was forgotten to be put back on.not very good at these things:o:o
esa 168 pw nothing else
brit living abroad IC allowed to be carried over here .
thanks:beer:0 -
As your PIP has now stopped i don't understand how you're claiming £168 per week ESA because you live abroad. ESA Income related is not paid when living abroad, as per Alice's post. Have you told DWP that you live abroad and how long have you lived there?hi thanks for the quick reply,i used to get standard rate for pip unitl it stopped in july 2018 for renewal, now at court of appeal stage, but i dont know if i got CA with the pip,it was about 55 pounds pw.when i was on incapacity i did get CA for my wife.am more bothered it was forgotten to be put back on.not very good at these things:o:o

Sorry but what is IC?0 -
hi,my esa is 168.45 pounds, this is what it says on my esa -n-72-12/13 form dated april 2016 support group ticked there is nothing else on this esa form saying i get any more money
pip was 55.00 pounds ota from last july.18
abc routine meant i was going through the process of pip,as said i am now waiting for my date at court of appeals.
my wife is not in the armed forces but am pretty damm sure she used to get CA when i was on IC
if i asked any dept would they have records all the way back to 2012?i only have my esa confirmation papers for each time i have been put into support group no other info
thanks:beer:0 -

Sorry, I don't understand this either.
CA cannot be paid at all to a carer if there is no award of the qualifying benefit.
What does the award notice for your £168 ESA say? Does it give a breakdown?
£168 seems an odd figure to me.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -
The amount of ESA you're claiming suggests its Support Group couples rate BUT as you're living abroad you're not entitled to claim income related benefits from the UK. You can only claim Contributions based. I'm unsure why your ESA is that amount.hi,my esa is 168.45 pounds, this is what it says on my esa -n-72-12/13 form dated april 2016 support group ticked there is nothing else on this esa form saying i get any more money

When did you move abroad?
Does the DWP know you live abroad? Please answer these 2 questions.
Your wife can't claim carers allowance living abroad.0 -
You're correct Alice. ESA couples is £176.05 per week.Alice_Holt wrote: »

OP please take a look at your ESA award letter to see the break down of exactly what it is you're claiming. Once you have this information then someone will help you further.0 -
