It's been a busy day today, I returned some clothing that I bought couple of weeks ago.
I found a swimdress that I liked so I bought that but then didn't buy anything else as there was nothing I liked the look of, saved my refunded money but may have a look at another shop tomorrow when I go food shopping.
Mr FTD & I treated ourselves to takeaway pizza tonight, not very MSE I know but we did use a voucher code, went through topcashback and shared a pizza, so it wasn't that bad really!!
I'm going to take myself off for a nice bubbly bath and a good book, hopefully that will snap me out of my grumpy mood, feels like I've got the Sunday night blues already yet we have a bank holiday so technically still a whole weekend to go!Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

:hello: Just thought I would pop by as you poped up on my diary this morning.
You are doing brilliantly, love how you have all your saving pots and are thinking about how you spend your money.
I try and set myself goals to try and keep on the straight and narrow, so one of my short goals is to keep grocery spends under £400 every month, my medium term goal is to save up before booking next holiday and my long term goal is to save up enough money to buy a fancy motorhome and go travelling around Europe (this will be in about 15-20 years time). I find its easier to say no to things if I have something specific to save for.
Hope you have a great weekend xx0 -
Thank you so much for popping in Pennywise.
I've just done a reccy on the accounts, we have spent too much already
The naughties (things I could have waited for but bought anyway)- Frying Pan - apparently we needed this (Mr FTD insisted)
- 2 x insulated bottles (15% off on Amaz0n) will be useful for long days out and save on buying plastic bottles
- Dominos Pizza (used a voucher and topcashback etc, however this could have been £15 cheaper if we bought a supermarket pizza)
- Lunch out today (had been food shopping, could easily have made lunch at home)
We're going to have to be super careful for the remainder of a LONG month, we have Mr FTD's birthday this month which will incur a little bit of spending, however I've paid for most of the fun upfront so shouldn't be too bad.
I think meal plans will have to be more frugal, I might cook up some soup for my lunches if I can figure out how long it can be kept in the fridge for.
Also going to sign up for some survey sites today to see if I can fund some more debt payments that way.
Tomorrow we are taking a picnic lunch to a NT property, will probably eat in the car before we go for a wander as will likely be too cold to sit out.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

I just remembered, I'm also due a refund on the clothes I returned which isn't showing in my bank yet due to my bank holiday, that will definitely help a little bit even though it's only about £20.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

Soup will keep fine in the fridge for a couple of days xx.0

:hello:
We've started the day with a big breakfast:- 2 chipolatas
- 2 hash browns
- 2 slices of toast
- scrambled egg
- Beans
We're off to a NT property this morning, we'll take some light snacks and a bottle of water with us to have when we get back to the car which should be around lunch time.
This afternoon I will get the bills spreadsheet up and decide how much to pay off the credit card. I also have some more household tasks to complete. I might pop back later with another dull update.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

So here we are with an update, I've paid £200 off the credit card, not quite £250 but I don't like to run the bills account to zero, I like to have a bit of a buffer. I've updated my signature to show £1400 now outstanding on the card.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

Another weekend over in a flash, quite a spendy one with a big shop including some monthly essentials like laundry detergent, fabric conditioner and toilet rolls, that alone added around £15 to the bill. Hopefully our grocery bills should be a lot less for the last 2 weeks of the month.
I've also bought Mr FTD one more birthday present (starting to doubt my plans for his birthday now so had to buy something else I knew he would like)
I've booked an experience through a website that gives me corporate discount, my brother in law is going to put some money through my door to pay for it so that should come back in this week.
This time next week, my long wait will nearly be over and I will be able to review the surprise plans to Mr FTD. :j It's getting tough keeping it quiet now, I always plan too early and then have to wait ages for the reveal
Now I'm off to sign up for some survey sites and see if I can earn me some more money to put towards paying off that pesky credit card.
Have a lovely Sunday evening all. :beer:Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

Time appears to have stopped, next Pay Day seems like a long way away and I'm starting to go stir crazy, we haven't left the house for anything other than work for nearly 2 weeks, but I've needed the NSDs to ensure we have some fun funds for next week's adventures!
Sadly the weather doesn't look like it's going to play ball either so might have to find some indoor activities as a back up plan.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

So I've been naughty and not posted in here for 10 whole days!!
I've had a tough week, a relative died and I've just been bumbling through the days with no real plan or direction.
I might have to move some money from my savings to tide me over until payday as we spent the best part of last week eating random bits as and when I felt like it (not very MSE at all) We've got fuel and we've been shopping so only need money for perishable top up shops.
We celebrated Mr FTD's birthday and managed not to spend too much - this was helpful.
Hope you're all well in debt busting world.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time
