The irony of being debt free. logged in to my internet banking to pay a self assessment tax bill (a day late! I had so many issues with the HMRC website yesterday)
Whilst I was logged on to internet banking, it showed me a message telling me I was pre-approved for a loan, not just any loan a £50k loan?! I would not dream of borrowing that money ever, that is an insane amount to borrow.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

Another bank and another approved loan offer, it is so easy to see how people fall in to the trap.
It's been an expensive couple of weeks in the FTD household, we've had a £400 tax bill to pay and a £400 boiler repair due to be paid in the next week or so (providing the repair goes ahead as planned tomorrow, I really hope it does as it is too cold to keep resetting the boiler every time we want some heating or hot water)
Today I am grateful to have savings that will allow me to pay for this, a year ago it would have been a very different story.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

On the downward slope to pay day and not much has really happened in the FTD household.
Had the boiler bill confirmed today £379 (ouch)
On Saturday we discovered we have an issue with our car, there appears to be water pooling in the passenger footwell and no sign of any leaks around the seals so it's off to the garage on Thursday...another expense we could do without. Fingers crossed it's not too costly but who knows, this is one area I am not 100% sure on so they could tell me anything (luckily I trust the garage we use, a friend of the family)
Sorry it's not a more exciting update for you all.

I was just tweaking my budget for March and got to thinking why is it, the more money you have the less inclined you are to spend it. I guess this is slightly heightened by the tax bill, the boiler repair and the impending car bill (really worrying that this may be the end for my trusty car, lockdown and lack of use has not served her well).Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

So the car wasn't as bad as we thought, however it has developed a mould problem following the pool of water that has been sat in the footwell. Trying to figure out how to salvage it before it causes irreparable damage.
I foresee this month will be a bit spendy, there are a few birthdays including mine coming up so I've factored in a little bit of the budget for that.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time

Just chuckled about my latest post (foreseeing this month would be a spendy month)
Mr FTD had an appointment booked for Wednesday, went out to the car and it wouldn't start at all. We had to call the recovery service, turns out the battery had died so had to replace that and then if it happens again it might be linked to our little flood situation. Now we wobble about buying a new (new to us) car, not brand new but it means making other sacrifices.Wobbling my way out of debt one month at a time
