If your intention is to totally stop service ( so not migrate to someone else ) then you need to give 30 days notice, and if you want that to coincide with the end of the minimum term , and the minimum term was 12 months, then notice would be required as the 11th month started ( and that date has already passed )
If your intention is to move to another provider, it's around 10-14 days for the new provider to arrange and action the migration , this serves as the notice to TT , but if inside the minimum term, you would call the new provider around 2 weeks before the end of the minimum term, to arrange the change.
It seems to me that many people fixate on trying to get the migration on the exact date of the expiry of the minimum term, but personally I would err on the side caution and aim for a few days after, that way no possibility of early term charges, and if you pay for a full month , any days paid for after the migration date are refunded, so even if you pay a couple of days at a non discounted rate with the old provider it's unlikely to be more than a couple of ££.
Sorry to piggyback on this discussion but I think you have answered my question. TT Contract ends on 1st march. Want to move so will set up new provider around 18th Feb so that migration will happen just after 1st march. I tried to speak to customer services about new deals and it was hopeless.
Thank you . :beer:0
