I cant get mobile contract despite good credit

I have had a work phone for the last 5 or 6 years. I now need a personal phone and have applied with EE twice now. The first time was just after we had gone through a re-mortgage process. My application was declined and was told it was probably down to the recent mortgage application. I then tried again 3 months later and again, my credit check wont go through. I have no debt, credit cards and a mortgage in my name. I have done the credit check on this website and it all looks good. Any suggestions for what I can do to remedy this? thanks!

How about don't get a contract? Buy a phone outright and choose a PAYG plan where you can buy a bundle each month that covers your needs but doesn't need a contract and can be stopped/changed at any time.rhenry2105 wrote: »Any suggestions for what I can do to remedy this? thanks!0 -

You’ll need to check all three credit agencies, if you’re getting knocked back for a mobile contracts it’s likely your credit isn’t as good as you think.====0 -

This is good advice, I've gone with a deal from Smarty that was better for me than any contract I could find at the time, and I can change my usage from month to month.0 -
How can it be 'good' if you seem to have NO credit history?rhenry2105 wrote: »... I have no debt, credit cards and a mortgage in my name. I have done the credit check on this website and it all looks good.
That said, a mobile contract is on of the easiest ways to build some history, but it has to be a modest, not very expensive one.0
