Speeding - Scotland

Hi, I've just received a letter from the police stating I was doing 41mph in a 30 zone, the offence happened 3 days ago. I'm 19 years old, been in no trouble before this at all. It was my first time driving long distance, it was 7pm at night and I was driving home. I know excuses have no merit though.
I've only passed my driving test less than 2 years ago and if I get more than 6 points I have my license taken off me. I can deal with just this one offence, but I'm really worried if I speeded on other roads and have more letters sent to me. I had been driving long distance since 1pm that afternoon and the offence was at 7pm, so surely any offences before that time would have also been stated? And would all offences be in one letter, not separate ones? Thank you, just really worried

You'd likely get a separate letter for each offense, and have 14 days to from incident to receive the letter. Time to arrive may also vary from county to county, if you were driving 7+ hours.
If you're worried about speed limits, then it might be worth using a sat nav even if you don't have a destination keyed in - they'll usually complain if you're speeding.0 -

hopefully lesson learnt, your insurance is going to go up with the points and drive like your careful granny from now on.0 -
I don't think it's more than 6 points, it's 6 points. 2 offences usually.
You don't say whether you knew you were speeding or just didn't know you'd been caught...0 -

3-6 points for speeding, if more than one offence is heard at the same time there’s only point for the most serious offence.0 -

It’s scotland, is there still an opinion of not signing the 172?0 -

Pepipoo website is more tailored for this stuff.0 -

I don't know that that would be the case now as the OP is in Scotland.
Our eight regional forces were all amalgamated into one in 2013.
The whole thing is now 'Police Scotland' with one Chief Constable.
Best go to Pepipoo.0 -

If you have a speed limiter on the car (not cruise control) then use this, it'll save you in the future if used correctly....0

Though using a speed limiter relies on the driver noticing the speed limit and adjusting the limiter accordingly. Which can also be done manually, using eyeballs (occasional glance at the speedometer), ears (listen to sound of engine) and foot (adjust position of it on the accelerator).
OP, the chances are you'll get 3 points and a fine. Take it as a lesson learned and be mroe observant and more careful in the future.0
