Timeline location problem since Android update
Options
I bought a new Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite a while back.
Great phone, but signal was not brilliant.
Last week (?) it updated to Android 9 and since then the location history on my Google Timeline has been inaccurate, but the signal seems better!
Can anyone suggest a tweak to help improve this?
I *may* have altered a setting whilst messing with the apps, perhaps!

I think it's a general issue with Android 9, I've got access to two devices that have upgraded to Android 9 (Samsung and Honor). The location is out on both of them0

I've got the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite updated to Pie and the location services work perfectly (always have) so it's not a problem with the phone generally or Pie itself (certainly not seen anything about that). Do a reboot first. Try the reset options in settings next, try the first two (in order) to see if that sorts it otherwise go for a full reset.
The signal is down to your supplier, as far as I'm aware Pie has made no difference in that respect. It's always possible that you've got a faulty handset but I think it's more likely you've changed something in settings.0 -

Today I walked to the shop - about half a mile, but it reckons I haven't moved - there's full 4G where we are todayColin_Maybe wrote: »Try the reset options in settings next, try the first two (in order) to see if that sorts it otherwise go for a full reset.
About Phone and Network/Internet are the first two.0 -

I just walked to the chippie earlier.
Whilst waiting, I opened Google Maps and it noticed that I was there.
Just checked my timeline on the PC and it says "we think you were at the chippie, is that right"

Will try and see ....
EDIT - will only try the first one - don't really want to reset all the notification preferences on all the 59 (?) Apps that I have!!!0 -

I went through all of them turning off notifications and other rubbish that I may one day need, but don't want reminding of on a daily basis!0 -

... but I *didn't* have an issue before the latest Android update0
