Has anybody had dealings with Blacktip Travel in Kent. They took nearly £6000 from us for flights to New Zealand and never issued tickets. Their invoice which we paid promptly gave a sort code and account number, we paid with a Nationwide debit card using the card reader. Nationwide now tell us that we are not eligible for Chargeback as it wasn't a debit card transaction - we don't understand!

I fear that Nationwide are right: it sounds as if you used your card and card-reader as security in order to make a Faster Payment.


Have you contacted the airline whose tickets you supposedly bought to see if they have been paid? If not, your next move is a report to Action Fraud and possibly asking the local police for help.

they have ceased trading - you will need to contact Action Fraud (although your money may be gone - bank transfer offers no protection)

Why would the OP contact action fraud? There hasn't been a fraud, the company has ceased trading.

The thread on Trustpilot suggests that they cancelled that ABTA membership yet continued to accept money for bookings.

The police are useless. I know someone who has moved into his old office and has the IT equipment he left. Loads of evidence on the computers, but the police haven’t seized them.
