ICICI savings account 1.55%

I've had a HiSave account since 2007 - after a while I withdrew everything but £1 as customer service was rubbish - website barely functional, painful phone calls to India, etc. They've been very poor at sending correspondence - I should have got an annual statement from them at least, but I haven't received anything at all.
Unless you're desperate for the extra 0.05%, I'd stick with Marcus.
Pretty much agree with this, though I closed my accounts as soon as they were no longer of any use to me.
They would have to be paying a market leading (by some margin) rate, before I would consider using them again0 -
Have had ICICI accounts in the past. Website appalling as others have said. Very slow response. I would stick with Marcus with whom I have been very impressed. One concern would be the speed of withdrawing money om ICICI INTO NOMINATED ACCOUNT. I guess it is wrong for them to call it instant access as it is probably easy access. I wish instituions would differentiate between instant access and easy access and not confuse the two0

Not sure who your 'them' refers to but the only references to 'instant access' seem to be from posters on this thread rather than the more definitive source(s):Malchester wrote: »I guess it is wrong for them to call it instant access as it is probably easy access. To be fair, 'instant access' was a term coined to differentiate accounts from those requiring notice to be given, but many now seem to interpret it to refer to the arrival of the withdrawal at its ultimate destination....0 -
If pain and heartache are worth 0.05% this is probably good value.0

Tried applying - dreadful website, and by the sound of postings here - things only get worse. Avoid.0

Don't touch them with a barge-pole!
Just spent over an hour trying to open an account that times out after just 6 mins.
Made 3 attempts to submit before time-out before it took me to a blank page with 'the URL is incorrect'
Called their India call centre 3 times to get help and they said I must have a building name in my address as it was a *required field (!)
They then told me to leave the house number field blank and put house number in the street field, street in the district etc..
I submitted the application and surprise, surprise, the address came out as garbage!
I wouldn't trust them with a bean. I wan't my £1 back!0 -
