  • Having registered on Friday I was expecting to receive the shares today (obviously) but I still haven't either. Just checked the T&Cs and it appears I should have done as well.

    3. Within 24 hours from meeting the conditions in Section 2 above, you will be entitled to acquire the Promotion Share. The time for the allocation may be extended, only due to technical issues, or when the time period falls within the weekend - e.g. if the account is opened on Friday you will receive the Promotion Share on Monday when and if the markets are open.

Bit concerning, but I'll give it another 24 hours before chasing it up though.

Lot of poor reviews (although mostly about platform outages) however is it correct you need to send them a photo of passport or driving licence id as part of sign up? Giving up that sort of personal info to a company I have never heard of for about £15 worries me tbh.

No ID required here, although they did ask for NI number. (Presumably for the ISA offering)

I have no reason to doubt their activities are just about legitimate but I reserve the right to dislike companies that knowingly sell products that are likely to cause their customers harm.

I don't like them either, but I'll take their money, much as I have done with gambling sites in the past (and still do every once in a while).

They are verifying people electronically, so if you can normally apply for a bank account without supplying ID you will probably be ok. I wouldn't be willing to part with a scan of an ID document for this either.

Thanks both, sure I read somewhere that they wanted a scan of an id but if they don't I may just go for it.
    I think....

There are many companies registered to that potentially virtual address - another warning sign for me. I might be getting grumpy but I like good established companies with some presence.

Not sure why you say "potential", it definitely looks that way to me

Not an automatic reason to avoid but I am very wary of virtual offices.

I used 'potential' as while there are clearly companies offering virtual addresses from that building it is also a big building with lots of office space. My guess is that they are using a virtual address but without visiting and checking for staff I cannot be sure.

  • So I've got 3 lots of shares. They've just come through today but I can't seem to sell them. Says bonus shares locked til Friday.
    Is that normal?
