Wow! there are some there, not ones that were sent to me via wattsapp - just ones I have taken which is great!
So this makes me question why are my contacts and messages not on there?
It is all so confusing0 -
They most likely will be. When you get a replacement phone and are setting it up use the same Gmail account and password that was on the S3. If they were backed up, which they should have been, then they should be downloaded to your phone over the following few hours.
Samsung usually ask you to set up a Samsung account as well when you're setting up one of their phones which also syncs contacts and messages, can you remember being asked to set one up?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Thank you. I am not sure about the Samsung account. I will try and find my original paperwork.0 -
The Samsung account is one that the phone asks you if you want to set up when you first turn on the phone and set it up, the same as Google does. As it offers things like "Find my phone" a lot of people do. You would most likely have used your email address at the time and whatever password you used. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I found the box the phone came in and I have written an email address in there, so I am hoping this was the one I registered the phone on. It is not my usual email address which has confused me even more! I don't know why I would have started a new one specifically for the phone but this is what it seems.
I would like to be sure before getting a new phone but don't know how. My brain is not so good these days!0 -

It will be a gmail address you used to set up the old phone
Log in with the he same gmail address on the new phone0 -
have you got access to a laptop or pc? if sync'ed you can access photos/contacts by logging into google account"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0

Yes I use a laptop but it is only showing a few photos, no messages or contacts. It says the phone was last synced on 10th January so I must have set something up along the way. I also have a samsung tablet
Thanks for assisting0 -
If the laptop is able to connect and talk to the phone you can install Samsung Kies application on the laptop. That should allow you to download the contents of the phone and back them up then restore to another Samsung phone or your tablet. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
