New Co-op Banking App and login issues

Is anyone experiencing difficulties with registering for the Co-op's new banking app? The existing app - which works perfectly fine - is being discontinued from Monday and I have been trying unsuccessfully to register for the new one (the registration process takes you to a webpage - its not via the new app - and then crashes each time).

I am also getting repeated problems with logging on to online banking generally.

Is anyone else having issues with the new Co-op app and their internet banking? Just useful to know if its a general issue.

I am not going to be of much help here, as I have been using the new app without any problems since yesterday.

However, I did not register again, as I had been using the old version of the app before. I simply logged into the new app with my full credentials. Have you tried just logging in?

I can't remember when I last used COOP Internet banking, so can't report whether it works for me or not

After using the new app for a while, this week it wanted me to rego through the registration process. One thing I did notice was the pin length changed from 5 to 6 digits.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

I downloaded the new app some time ago and used it without any problem. I then went back to using the old app, simply because it was on the 1st page of finance apps:o

When I tried to use the new app again, I had to re-enter all my internet log in details but its been working fine since so I've deleted the old app.
  • I managed to get on it fine as soon as it was available, set up touch ID etc. but it kicked me off fully every few days for no reason.

I also found it really poor compared to other banking apps and actually worse than the old one, so it was the final prod I needed to switch away.

It's not a very sexy app, I agree. It's perfectly good for what I want to do, which isn't a lot as the only reason I have the account is that they are paying me £48 a year for having it.

    Should be £66 a year surely? £5.50 a month?

I (should be) getting £150 from HSBC plus a 5% savings account which easily beats that, and I'll be a new customer if they have a good switch deal in the future.

I suppose the difficulty with all the 'rewarding' current accounts is how many to keep and how to strategically keep yourself eligible for plenty of switches each year.

CBA with the debit card spends. All my spending goes on credit cards.

Fair enough, I'd actually forgotten that's what it was for.

I'm usually one who CBA with debit card spends, but I have a Barclaycard which allows debit card payments through its app, so sometimes make several £25 or £50 payments.

I pay in the week between my receiving my pension and the card's due date, which earns me more than the lost interest:D.

Co-op is my main:cool: account though so there's usually a few ££s passing through on it meanderings around my other accounts.
