No it didn't. It was abolished by the UK government over security concerns.

We had Duty Free on the ferries. The EU stopped that. Brittany Ferries had 200 ciggies for £86, thanks to the EU. Fortunately, I gave up 35 years ago!
Did it? I thought duty-free simply died because it couldn't compete with the vast quantities of cheap booze and fags that can now be imported legally, thanks to the EU.

Tried to sort it out with my insurer a couple of weeks ago,they said don`t know yet whats going on re green card.A month before travel sounds ridiculous.Don`t get me started on the dog 4 months before,and a cost of 280 pound.
An insurer giving something for free ????? I was charged 26 pound admin fee for changing my address so for issuing a green card will not be free even if they cost nothing.I was informed there would be an admin charge.

We're insured with LV, includes European cover as we have a holiday cottage in Brittany. But applied for a green card anyhow, no charge and it arrived within 4 days. Also got our International Driving Permits from the Post Office, £5.50 each and took less than 10 minutes for the transaction.
