Because there's not really any difference between a voluntary online poll by a research group for name suggestions and a national referendum, is there? :wall:
One of the submersibles on the ship has been called Boaty McBoatface BTW but using that example out of sheer desperation to somehow deny Brexit goes to show that the denial really does get more than a little bit silly at times.
Don’t be ridiculous.
I was drawing a parallel to a broken promise.
No one said it was in any way equivalent.0 -

Anyone also noticed that when the BBC does a vox pops piece they invariably go to heavily Leave voting areas?
"And now we go to our correspondent in Darlington/Stoke/Hartlepool/whatever, which - surprise surprise - voted overwhelmingly Leave, to see what people on the street think."
Then some OAP or disaffected left behind person blurts something unintelligible in the microphone ('out! out!', 'the war' and stuff) and back to the studio.
Really, what's the point?Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

Then show us where the NERC promised to name the ship according to vote numbers or even where they promised to name the ship from any suggestion they received because they didn't. Unless you can prove otherwise? There was no promise there to compare with your alleged analogy so the two aren't even remotely similar, just like I said.
It definitely doesn't merit bolded and italic words and sentences.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

So neither were legally binding polls? Isn't that analogous?0
