What's this thing you brexiters have about Germany?
Germany has always been the poster child of a country that's thriving within the EU, so 'why isn't the UK equally happy' is an oft raised topic.

It's a fair comparison because Germany is the other major EU industrial state that follows capitalistic rules. France with it's confiscatory taxes to subsidise and protect certain of it's cherry picked industrial and agricultural sectors is not.

You're obviously not aware that the EU is simply a vehicle to achieve the Fourth Reich and German world domination?
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

Not a recession yet, but we've just had a quarter with 0.2% economic shrinkage. What can we blame that on?
    Statistical uncertainty?

Secondly, were an anti no-deal majority or Remain majority returned in November, a sovereign parliament could legislate retrospectively, with the agreement of the EU, so as to extend the Brexit date and deem Britain not to have left the EU on October 31. Parliament has legislated retrospectively in the past, most notably in the War Crimes Act 1991.

    I like this idea.
Pass some retrospective legislation in November to undo Brexit.
That will shut up brexiteers who keep on squealing that we have to have left before we can rejoin. :rotfl:

    Perfect solution :)

The BBCs rabid reporting of the latest figures is crackers.

It's as if they WANT a recession for something to report on.

    Shame on them.

No it hasn't. Post unification, until entry into the Euro at a favourable rate. Germany itself was the sick man of Europe. Fortunes ebb and flow.

Now that China is obtaining the technology. Can begin to compete head on with Germany as a heavyweight manufacturer.

When someone comes along and actually tells me why this Brexit thing is SO necessary I will listen.

It isn't and no one knows the consequences. That is just awful for everyone.

Oh and will Brexit No Deal mean the end of food banks (in a First World Country, for shame), and the continuation of underfunding of education, the police, social care and so on?

Well to bribe an electorate for a GE maybe. I am totally cynical. Sorry now.
