Brexit the economy and house prices part 7: Brexit Harder

There is little appetite in the Eu for renegotiation and I don’t blame them.
The WA has been voted out 3 times and when May tried to compromise she managed to displease both sides.
I hate to say I agree with Blair but this is now a binary decision.
I would like to see us get on with a 2nd referendum as there are people who feel they were lied to and would like to change their mind.
Probably not nearly as many people who now know that the were lied to in order to get them to vote to join the EEC in the first place. That referendum was based entirely on lies.
The Leave voters are just trying to return the UK to the situation that it would have been outside the EU if the first set of lies hadn't been told to get people to vote to join in the first place.0 -
The threat to the NHS by Trump re any Trade agreement will kill off Brexit in jig time. There is no upside.
It’s as if Trump WANTS the UK to stay in the EU, or maybe he thinks the Brexit Bunch are just as thick as he is.0 -
Where did he say that? Don't put words in other people's mouth, please.0

Trump has now backtracked on the nhs being part of trade deals.
I seriously think that he did not realise precisely what the nhs is and how it is run. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Does that boost your confidence in him then?0 -
The NHS has strong bargaining power because the buying process is mostly centralised. Big Pharma doesn't like that. This is one of the reasons why Big Pharma can charge more in the US - the lack of a centralised buying process.
Will this change after a trade deal? No one has a crystal ball. But there exists the risk that this will be part of the negotiations. From memory, I think the US ambassador said something about trade deals needing to include the NHS somehow.0 -
Irrespective of the enormous disparity in power between the UK and the US, we sell much more to the US than we buy from them.
This puts us in exactly the same position of weakness with America that the Brexiters have been saying gives us a position of strength over the EU.
Except the EU have closed ranks.
Who do we close ranks with? Theres a cold winter coming for Brexiters.
I was so embarrassed to be British watching that joke of a press conference. Trump was in his element, comfortable in his own skin as the big beast in the room and May just stood there swivel- eyed, gurning away while he bigged up her enemy Johnson. The craven politicians watching, just smiled sickly and wished they could be anywhere else!0 -
Particularly the part about the NHS, where he couldn't hear the question and she had to repeat it. May had to actually ask Trump if the NHS was on the table.0

And you believe that?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
