Ever asked yourself the question as to why this advisory referendum has not been trumped by our lawmakers thus far?
Only a few of them want Brexit, why the reluctance to give it up as bad job I wonder.
    Any ideas?

Maybe they know a bad deal when they see one?
Maybe the know what a damaging mess a no-deal exit will be?

Why is it a bad deal.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

Simple answer, never trust a politician.

I always find it's best to look at what they do rather than say - the referendum was written as non-binding no matter what was said, and to follow the money - who benefits the most from what?

Internal party politics - if there was any majority for anything we'd have got it, and no-one can find a way out without splitting the Tory party. This is only about the Tory party trying to fend off the right-wing, no one gives a stuff about the electorate.

    Yes quite...

Shall we just assume it's a video about Brexit most likely made by Breitbart?

    You're obsessed with Tories.
    Nope.
As much as they'd like to ignore the electorate, our elected reps can't get around the democratic imperative to leave the EU as directed by the referendum result.

So why haven't we left, then?

Parliament can more or less ignore the electorate any time they want - there are some pretty safe seats out there. I didn't say they ignore the electorate though, just that they don't give a stuff about it. They've been playing the electorate for years (and some of them are very good at it.), but you can do that without caring about them (like manipulating ants to take a different route).

What makes you think that someone like Boris Johnson cares about the average voter?

(I probably am somewhat obsessed with the Tories - they are currently the single biggest threat to the UK).

Because it only a job half done. When the Government called the referendum it made it clear that in the event of Leave vote we would negotiate a withdrawal agreement and an agreement on our future relationship with the EU. The latter has not been agreed. The non-binding political relationship document fails to address this future relationship.

So for you it is the political relationship document that you find makes the whole deal unexeptable.
In the 29 pages what do you object to or perhaps you could point out what is missing.
This is it if you haven’t read it in the last couple of days.
The Political declaration setting out the framework for the future relationship between the European Union and the United Kingdom

I am an ardent remainer but having spent 33 months saying that the uncertainty is the most damaging part of the Brexit referendum result I am keen to bring this to an end to stop the continuing damage that uncertainty is doing to Britain and the EU27.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.
