Went to the music event as planned and was lucky to get a lift both ways as buses were only running hourly. Not really my kind of music to listen to for 6 hours :rotfl: but good to spend time with family and also a few I don't see very often. Watched TV when I got home and had a chilled out evening.

Today had a long lie, weather a bit grey and its very blustery so going nowhere :) My plan is to spend the afternoon starting my tax return. I'm hoping to get back to healthier eating as well, I've made some veg and lentil soup for lunch and will make a paneer, mushroom and spinach curry for tea.

I checked the banks this morning and while its not looking great after work being so sparse last month, I should hopefully get enough in during the next couple of weeks to cover the CC and other bills which is a relief. I couldn't sleep last night worrying about it all and feeling a bit overwhelmed.

Am going to put a washing on in a bit and then head to the pit of paperwork to look for bank statements to start my accounts. At least it will be my second NSD of the year

    Hi Teapot Happy New Year.

Sorry to hear your money worries are keeping you awake at night. There is nothing worse. I am not sure if this would work for you but I find a plan helps me when I am worried about something. I wonder if you could think of ways of generating the extra income you need until business picks up....any casual work for example Cat/Dog/Baby sitting etc.

Do share your worries on here people are great at seeing things from a different perspective and suggesting helpful ideas

Hope you sleep better tonight, although a day of accounts probably isn't going to help

From me too, teapot, sorry to hear about the sleeplessness. I've been a bit sleepless myself, and its because I've been eating so badly over the holiday period, grrr. One more helping of mince pie, and I'm done. The cow's cheese is going in the freezer, and my body is going to recuperate :):):)

Thanks for the suggestions Busy Mee and Happy New Year to you too, I couldn't do any dog/cat sitting etc as I am sometimes out at work for 12 hours including the commute, its one of the reasons I don't have a dog myself. My extra income generator is selling online which I do on @mazon at the moment. I could probably do a bit more on that and I can fit it in round work.

There is 'stuff' kicking about that I could probably Eb@y though I've never sold on there and feel a bit daunted by it. I should be brave and give that a go this year.

I think the early hours are when the worries seem magnified and I can't always switch the thoughts off. I know I'm not alone in this and during the day I'm better at keeping the financials in proportion. You are right though that the advice and support on here is so helpful and I'm always grateful for the input :T

Thanks KC, hope you get back to regular eating, I was given quite an amount of chocolates through work and have shamelessly decluttered the biggest boxes to family members so that I don't end up eating the lot :o

Making a start yesterday, continuing today. Thats a good idea about the chocolates! I don't think I had any chocolate over the holiday season - I had a lovely chocolate pudding at the beginning of December, and that was that! No longer a family vice, none of us can have it in the house, so we dont!

I've almost finished making up my accounts for the online selling. When I say 'making up' I don't mean I've invented them :rotfl:. I then need to do the accounts for my self employment before I input it all online to the tax return.

I didn't make curry yesterday in the end as I checked the fridge and found a pack of breaded fish to be used up. I had one fillet with mash and lurking brussel sprouts and other veg. I'll have the other one with a baked tattie tonight. If theres time I'll make a mushroom and sweet potato curry today to have over the weekend. That'll be pretty much all of the festive veg used up.

Its better weather today, cold but sunny so I might venture out for a walk later depending how the accounts go. Best get on with that....

Ah sorry Teapot I had got it into my head that your online selling was your main work, not a sideline. Clearly you can't work any more hours then.
Hope you get out for a walk, it is a beautiful day herex

Thanks Busy Mee, I'd be happy to have that as my only work but not much chance of retiring at the moment unfortunately. Stayed sunny here too which makes such a difference .
