Managed to do a bit more gardening yesterday as threatened rain didn't materialise until late afternoon. Beans are all harvested so put the plants in the brown bin and tidied up various stragglers. Think I overdid the gardening on Saturday as my back was quite stiff so only did about half and hour yesterday.
Made smoked mackerel and giant couscous salad for tea which was rather yum. I don't like really strong smoked fish and this was lightly smoked from S@insbug so didn't overpower.
I've got my annual review at one of my jobs later today - not expecting any surprises in it though. Just reserved a place on a long Prolific study [various tabs open on laptop] so best go and do that :cool:0 -
Annual review went well so pleased thats done, managed to feedback a couple of concerns as well
Got very grumpy trying to get home as there were bus diversions with a lack of clear signs about which way the bus was going and where it would stop. Lots of other very confused people waiting as well. All the walking round and round resulted in 2 buses missed so an extra hour hanging around
Bagged 2 x £5 surveys on Prolific yesterday and both are already paid :j so, cashed out £20 from there this morning and will put that towards a CC payment. That rare thing a Ugov survey arrived this morning so thats done for 50 points.
I'm not working until late afternoon today so might try and do a bit in the garden. I want to dig up some mini trees that have established themselves. The roots are too much for my trowel so need to get the fork out of the shed I think. Am hoping that will do the job and as we've had so much rain the ground is soft. Will also plant the rest of the bulbs if the rain keeps off.0 -

Work meeting in a nearby town yesterday then a wee look in some of the charity shops. Nothing bought other than a book for a friend. Popped into Tosco for bread and packet of digestives on the way home.
The sun came out in the afternoon so did a bit more in the garden, digging out self seeded plants and weeds, more bulbs also planted which will be ground cover when established so hopefully keep down the weeds a bit. Stopped when my back began to get a bit twingey.
Had a couple of Prolific survey and another Ugov much to my surprise as they have seemed very infrequent in the last few months. Last of this month's CC payments came out of my account this morning so its looking more empty than it has for a while. I know I'll be paid for some work towards the end of the month and can pay some of that into my current account so trying not to worry about it.
Meeting a friend for lunch later and its my turn to pay but thats budgeted for. Have made a tomato sauce so will have veggie sausages or falafels with roast veg for tea.0 -
Hi teapot
I'd like to get out into the garden and finish off some of the weeding now I'm back, but the rain has been fierce, and my clay soil won't thank for me for stepping on it right now. Enforced non-weeding
I might even make my own falafels
Enjoy your day2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Been a busy week workwise as been working every day which I don't usually do so am quite tired and glad its the weekend. Hoping to mostly just chill out. We had torrential rain last night and this morning, the main road into the city was closed because of flooding so glad I wasn't travelling today. Had planned to pop out to the High Street but decided against it as it was sideways rain
so just had a lazy day.
Did a washing, listed a couple of things online, did a bit of tidying, an online food shopping order and mooched about online but other than that chilled and read a book. I'm up to £4 now on 1poll and at £14+ on Prolific though I just missed out on a couple of better paying surveys today.
Pleased that I have kept my 'pay it off in full' CC bill to just under £200 this time. It covers my food shopping, cafe visits, cat pills, cat food, tiny human's birthday pressie, a few Christmas bits and other random spends.
Hoping to go out tomorow if the weather is better :cool:0 -
Sounds good to me
hope you get out and about today.
