Was meant to be meeting a friend for lunch in a lovely cafe about 10 miles from here. Unfortunately the weather is too stormy so we've postponed till early next week.
The wind is very gusty and I got blown into the fence when I went to collect the empty recycling boxes as they headed off down the street so I think that was a wise decision.
So, pot of lentil and veg soup made for lunch and I'll have a rummage for the makings of tea. Not much fresh fruit and veg left but there is frozen veg. Might make a veggie mince spag bol type concoction.
I'll do a bit more sorting out and shredding as I'm unexpectedly at home. Plan to see what paperwork I can dig up on OH's PPI.
Have started off an online shop order. I've got friends coming to stay next week for a few days and also family for lunch one day so need to meal plan a bit and make sure I've got all the ingredients. Once I've done that I'll amend the order.
But first, cup of tea calls0 -
Think I'll join you in a cup of tea but I'm having a biccie with mine.

I found some old statements where OH was paying whats called 'payment insurance'.
There are also various bits of more recent paperwork including one from 2017 which is an annual review of 'Personal Payment Protection Cover' but I don't know if that will help. I need to ring them next week to see if I can even claim on OH's estate.
Did loads of shredding and if its not too windy tomorrow I'll move it into the shed as its taking over the living room :rotfl:
Think thats enough for today so going to chill out for a while. Today was a NSD.0 -
You're the legitimate executor, and its a legitimate credit to the estate, I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't let them bully you into thinking you don't have any rights! I'm sure Martin will have some specific advice. I think I'm sure, anyway ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks both but it looks like its not as simple as that, Resolver says;
'Claiming on behalf of a deceased relative depends on the bank you're claiming from. Some banks may not accept claims on behalf of a dead relative (since the person who is claiming isn't their customer).
Double-check with the bank to find out more'.0 -
Oh my word! That really surprises (and dismays) me ... I hope checking with the bank, if you can face it, gives a positive result.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Teapot I have everything crossed for you with the bank.
We have started to burn our non recycleable paperwork, set up outside, glass of wine and the firepit! Not good in this wind though! Hope you make it to the shed in one piece.

Thanks Jodles, will need to work myself up to contacting the bank
Firepit sounds fab as does glass of wine outside!
The wind only died down after it got dark so haven't ventured to the shed0
