Morning everyone ,an earlier one from me today as pooch barked and woke me.I think next door woke her, Mrs Nextdoor goes to work quite early, but she's snoring away again now. I put the heating on early too,its very frosty outside. The car windscreens will need scraping ,that's for sure.
It's good to hear you are feeling a bit better dumpling,I was sorry to read about your stay in hospital.
Taff sorry you've got the flu on top of everything else,I think this is what we have all had here, a week on and I think I feel a bit better this morning and Dh didn't wake me during the night with his horrendous cough,it's certainly floored him- don't think he 's had a sick day since the 90s
I'm going to cook properly tonight,we've been making do with bits from the fridge,I have an online shop coming this morning. I sent an email to Morriies as my bonus points from the xmas shops hadn't been added on and got a nice message back saying it had been sorted and they had been added :T
Hope you all have the best day you can x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Good morning,
A frosty start here too and I think that whatever has been making me cough is turning into something nasty. I've taken some over the counter stuff and gargled with salt water so far.
Fat class this morning and I'll go because I don't feel too awful yet (though I think that phase is on it's way) and I give my cousin and my friend a lift. I'll just need to warn them not to breathe anywhere too close to me. I'm hoping that I've lost my target pound this week. It doesn't sound much but it adds up. I don't think I'll be going running this afternoon though somehow
Oh snap TA The HT has requested sausage and mash and gravy with a yorkshire pudding for his tea. Nice and easy so that's what he can have. Good luck with your decluttering.
Take care all of you

Hi everyone, I was awake really early and decided to get on, so was cleaning the kitchen at 5.00am. Then ran out of oomph and went back to bed!
Sorry you've got the flu taff, that's not fair. I hope you manage to sleep as much as possible.
This is a quieter week for me, a good chance to catch up with a deeper clean than usual. The bathroom is next on the list. Then I have visitors this afternoon.
Hugs as ever to Holly and Poppy, taff and anyone else under the weather or looking after loved ones, snoozer, Csarina et al, take some time for yourself when you can. I hope everyone has the best day possible. xxx0 -
Morning everyone,
The TD delivery turned up around 9 am in the end so not too bad a wait, all installed now but haven’t used it yet, will need to read the manual first as there a fair few dials compared to my old one!
Princess Pony has the farrier today so can’t go too far but all this talk of de-cluttering has got me looking around the house and my attention is focused on the study, since we both stopped using it for work it’s become a bit of a dumping ground for all the odds and ends in the house. There is also a big pile of photos and other memorabilia that I brought over from Mum’s bungalow and haven’t had the heart to sort through yet, I really need to crack on.
Sorry to hear that you have the lurgy on top of everything else Taff take care to you and all our poorlies.
Have a good day folks x0 -
Morning everyone,
Thank you for your well wishes regarding my dad yesterday. I accepted the situation years ago and so it's not something which gets me upset now. By comparison, my best friend's dad died when he was 4, so I try to count myself lucky that I can still see my dad.
Yesterday felt like a long day given the early start and late stay in work. I sorted out my rod tax when I got home and prepped a nice healthy dinner before going to bed early. I must have needed the sleep as I slept right through till the alarm at 5,30 and I opted for a longer lie rather than the gym this morning.
I've got football tonight and not much else planned, I might squeeze in a quick visit to the gym given I didn't go this morning. Ask me again at 5pm how I'm feeling.
taff - you're doing well to even get on here. When I had the flu this time last year I could barely move! Hope it shifts soon.
BTDT - I can't remember where I heard this technique, but regarding Amazon purchases, add the thing(s) to your wishlist and tell yourself to make the final decision the next day. Usually, once you've had the chance to 'sleep' on it, you see the bigger picture.
Gers - Sounds productive, good on you!
Rosy - Well done for noticing they hadn't been added. It's something which I never check.0 -
Morning

Bit late sorting myself out today truth was I was lying in bed rowing with Piers Morgan on morning tv
very annoying man
So yesterday was not the best
...went and got a new battery from my old watch ..£10  the watch isn't worth that. Anyway it was an emergency remember as she cant manage without one. Anyway over to mums with blue lights flashing and dashed in to deliver said watch. "oh I dont need it now ....." her neighbour had listened to her moans and kindly taken it for a new battery too. Sadly the phone lines must have been down as there was no call to let me know :mad: Have to say this really ****** me off. Its her blase attitude that annoyed me after the urgency. Rude
Anyway thanks for the rant... business as usual with her I guess so I cant let it bring me down again. On a happy note my tagine arrived :j I picked up some chicken thighs and will do something this weekend ....need a heat diffuser first though then I dont crack it so got a cheap one from Amazon which should be here today. Need some liver too then I can try moroccan liver
Dentist today boo hoo but just a check up so not too concerned ...my dentist is over where i lived 20 years ago as i like them so its a bit of a trip but the bonus is its near a greggs....I literally only go to greggs every 6 months with my dentist appointment
I can feel a sausage roll and a steak slice coming on
Have a good day all0 -
Morning all from a cold and frosty Mehefinland
Hugs and spoons to those in need.
Bruisemare has to go on a diet:eek: She will not like that, but farrier said yesterday that she had a touch of laminitis starting and we need to take some preventative action now. The weather has been so foul the last few months that we haven't been able to give her the exercise she needs to keep the weight off. She's the sort that gets fat on fresh air, although she does sweat like a pig. Long hairy coat too which doesn't help. Looks like more John Wayne impressions on the cards for me:rotfl:
This mornings excitement besides deicing the car inside:eek: and out was disturbing a big dog fox by the barn. he ran off across the field into next doors field. Probably been digging in the muckheap for worms. Sallylab didn't even spot him bless her.
Mrs M got wind of our plans to give her a party for the impending major burpday:mad: and emphatically said last night that she did not want a party. That may prove a bit awkward:p Will talk her around hopefully, but we were planning surprise one anyway. She isn't the most sociable of people on occasions.
We will see.
Keep safe and warm

taff, I hope you get well soon.
Holly and Poppy, I hope you are both as well as possible.
Nelski, It's almost as if she's testing you, like a child would - how far can I go before Nelski turns round and says no. I'd be really cross too. Enjoy your Greggs.
Steve sees the consultant at Addenbrookes today and hopefully the details of his chemo can be sorted out today. We also have a toaster to take back to JL. We bought it before Christmas but it burns the sides of the bread before the middle is even coloured.
I did a lot of cooking so I have batches of bolognaise, cottage pie and lamb hotpot in the freezer and we had sea bass with lentils for dinner. I'm still finding the blood sugar diet fairly easy to cope with and I'm not feeling too hungry.0 -
LameWolf, if you are reading I tried to send you a PM but it wouldn't let me. A while ago you mentioned having difficulty finding a front fastening bra - if you still need one I saw one by Miss Mary of Sweden that looked quite good.0
