I have just found an HMRC page showing my tax summaries for 18/19 and 19/20 showing the bank interest included in these year's annual calculations. I cannot recall how I got here but I saved the page which will load when I am logged into my HMRC personal tax account.

Click on the required year, then on income and taxes and then on your taxable income. It categorises it as other income (including interest) but in my case it is just interest.

The amount for 19/20 is the same as the figure used for 20/21. Sadly, both are grossly overstated but still marginally below my £1,000 threshold for paying tax thereon.

Works for you, not for me.  Typical of experimental software.

  • Thanks RG2015.
Works for me; information incorrect, however.  Does not agree with tax actually paid.

Thanks, it works for me too.
Shame it doesn't list the savings accounts included.

Do you mean interest actually paid??

I compared the amount of tax collected during the year 2019-20 with that quoted for that year.
The amount óf tax actually paíd was less than that shown in the summary. The amount of tax actually paid by PAYE agrees with the details in the personal tax account.
So my summary for both tax years shows more tax collected than was actually paid. The error is not large, tens rather than hundreds of pounds.
    I don't know why.

Do you mean an "Annual Tax Summary", which is a specific thing designed to show how the government spends the tax you have paid?

Rather than something showing your personal tax position for the year?

The page I referenced was the annual tax summary. However it shows both the actual tax I paid and how the government spends the tax I paid.

Have you looked at the page on my link?

I have not as yet checked that the tax paid amounts are correct for the two years in question.

PS I have now checked and the tax amounts are correct for both years

I don't believe the Annual Tax Summary is relevant when it comes to your real tax situation.

Although why it would differ is a bit odd.

I can't sign into your Personal Tax Account 😳
