Please could a mod delete
---
EDIT: Sorry I've just seen the comments after I deleted my original post. I really didn't mean to upset people for deleting the content. I've appreciated everyone's help a lot (hence the hitting the 'thank you' button). I've messaged a mod explaining why I deleted this (the reason it has been deleted can't really be explained publicly on here). I'd appreciate if people stopped replying to this thread as it'll deter 'open' threads from being commented on. Thansk and apologies once again.

Do you not have to have been with them 6 months to claim leaving?
Also just make up a reason for leaving if you are worried about your true reason not being accepted.
I had previously switched to them (for a bonus) then last year when another bonus came up I hadn't claimed I switched away saying I found their mobile banking app too frustrating to use so was switching away. Didn't receive anything within 8 weeks so phoned them again and they send the £100 as well as some extra for the inconvenience; almost made me switch back with that gesture0 -
You accepted their offer to compensate. What do you think?I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

I don't think you need to give a reason for leaving, you can just leave if you want. But I believe it's only if you leave after 6 months but before 12 months.Debt Totals July 2019::

Indeed, I just made a thread about the missing Expedia option. That's really disappointing to hear.
Now I'm tempted to just claim one of the tech gifts and just sell it new on Ebay for the cash. Think I could get well over £100 for some of them.0 -

You have to contact them to say you're leaving because you're unhappy with them, for whatever reason you've decided. They don't pay out automatically to everybody who leaves without letting them know why.0 -
yes it is a valid excuse just say you dont trust them any more. Wait 6 months though...0

Not happy with service, don't like telephone banking, don't fancy having a card with the words "first direct" on it anymore? I.e. I don't think there's a threshold for the reason to be good enough to get the leaving bonus. My friends told me they were denied it because they said they didn't accept the rubbish online banking/no interest account as a reason. Another friend told me they denied her as she had only used it for transferring in and out for the 6 months and they felt it was apparently too obvious. If you don't like the way we do things after six months, we'll not only help you move banks - we'll give you £100 as a leaving present.

You need to contact us to let us know you're unhappy within 12 months of opening your account0 -
Thanks esbanker, today I learned something new. I'm very surprised that this is their stance since besides the rubbish app, I've had nothing but great customer service from them. I stand corrected.Debt Totals July 2019::
