Rude and unnecessary. Don't expect much help in the future if this is the way you behave.

This is why it's a good idea for someone to quote the OP when responding ;)

Why delete the opening post and ask for the thread to be deleted?

This is a public forum, not a personal service, and the question you raised (that's you bp5678) and the answers you got may well be useful to others.

Agreed. I don't remember there being anything sensitive in the OP, and First Direct are not going to be able to link the OP to his bank account in real life based on what they said here.

I suspect even if they could guess at the connection it would be unlawful for them to use data from this website to make a decision relating to the OP's bank account as there would be no way of proving they were one and the same person and it would be a misuse of data.

The value of threads like this is too great for them to just be deleted on the say-so of a poster who has got their answer already. :(

I'd appreciate if people stopped replying to this thread as it'll deter 'open' threads from being commented on. Thansk and apologies once again.

Yeah, well we'd appreciate it if people didn't delete their posts for NO REASON.

This thread IS OPEN and we are replying to it because the issue of OPs deleting posts IS RELEVANT.

People will also be deterred from spending time providing information for the benefit of OPs and others if the threads that they have contributed to are going to be deleted.
