I found a website for an Auctioneer advertised in one of the Sunday papers which will value items for nothing. www.luckners.com - it says "simply email them pictures and their experts will give you their valuations - free of charge. If you do decide to sell through them, they take a 15% commission and they will arrange transport of the item to the new owner".
I've not tried it yet but it might be helpful to someNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
I will take a look with this article. Pretty exciting.0

Charity shop trawling for books and other items to resell online can be quite profitable if you know your market and have time to commit. Some of the bigger charity shop chains (Oxfam in particular) are really sharp at spotting quality books so aren't much good for this, but many smaller and less organised charities tend to just flog everything for 50p-£1 without checking.
Don't forget libraries for cheap books too. My mum runs a local library and she has a guy who comes in for the cheap 'withdrawn for sale' books, selects the ones he thinks mights be profitable and uses the library's free to use PCs to check whether they are worth buying to sell on. I have suggested to my mum that the library do the same themselves to boost income but the staff just don't have the time - they just tend to price most books the same to make life easy.0 -
I suppose this would work well on amazon.co.uk, if you are a member and have a seller account you can type in the books ISBN number and it will tell you how much they have it listed for etc.DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

I started up a shop on ebay and the salary i get from that almost matches my current full time salary. Just find yourself a good supplier. You could also start your own website and make your money either selling products or using affiliate marketing. There are plenty of companies that set up a website for you and even design it and do all the internet marketing for you0

I think unless you're a natural salesperson and have lots of mates then it's virtually impossible to make a living from any of these. I am a texpert and I work adult sms as well. Most weeks i do about 20 hours and £100/month is a good month. Unless you have no other options for employment then it's really a losing battle.0

I have been making money online now for several years and it has really helped boost my income. If you're thinking of having a go yourself I would say the best idea is to sign up to a range of sites, online surveys, review writing, etc as the small amounts you do make are likely to be infrequent so to get a steady flow of stuff (cash and vouchers) this is the best way.
Through doing this you will find some will be more profitable than others. If you find it takes too long to get returns from a site, as Martin says, "Loyalty doesn't pay":money: so don't hesitate to thin out the less profitable ones as this will say you time and frustration at companies that have led you up the garden path!
I have signed up to many different places and some sites other people find great I have thinned out (like Valued opinions) as the return is too low or slow so it is not a clear cut thing. In the words of different stokes, "what might be right for you may not be right for some!".
I will post up a list of the places I am signed up to shortly, need to go have lunch!

Are you planning on making and selling yourself - on ebay and similar or wanting to approach a company. Writers and Artists year book will give you the info about the publishers to approach and what they will want to see. Or find the information online by searching for 'greeting card publishers uk'.
A long time ago some of the top ones wanted transparencies, I've no idea if that's the situation now.0
