Organza_Lace just read back on your post about Grump's brother in law from yesterday, it's so difficult.

I have tears, not sure if they are for you, me or my lovely DH.
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.
  • Morning all,

    Happy Monday.

I know it's typically known as a 'bad' day, but in an attempt to be more positive, I'm trying to change that within myself.

Anyway, I had a nice weekend. Very productive. Saturday was mostly life admin, sorting out direct debits, deep clean of the flat, weekly food shop, bought my dads birthday present, sorting out my budget for the month (and year) ahead.

Sunday I played football in the morning. We were beaten 3-1 and I only played 20 minutes or so but it was good to get a run about as it's been the first time I've played 11's since I tore my calf a couple of years ago. After that I made my soup for the week ahead, chorizo and lentil, and then prepped my dinner. Also bagged a NSD.

The weekends productivity has inspired me to continue in that vein. As such, I've been to the gym this morning and I've a free evening in front of me. I've still a list of things I'd like to do, so I'll perhaps tackle them.

Dumpling - Glad you're feeling a bit better and hopefully you hear back form the mental health people this time. My dad suffers from MH issues and in our experience, we can't fault the help and service he's been given.
Scarlet - Excuse my ignorance, but how does the book club work? Do you pick a book one night, read it over the course of a week and then meet to discuss and pick a new one? Sounds interesting as I like to be held accountable.
BTDT - I too sometimes have random sharp pains in my body and I think to myself, "This is it. This is how I'm going to go". A bit dramatic perhaps as it soon passes, I hope yours does too.
Organza - Happy birthday to your DS in that case!

    Good morning :)

Great party all taking turns sitting on Gers chair was fun :) Was going to start dry January today but I'm never one to shun a party. Rubes i have brought my robot vac so job done whilst the drying continues :beer:

Another one waking lots last night so much for 11 hours and nice dreams last night was pure panic wake ups and about 4 hours :(

Put out 2 black bags for the charity pick up this morning and 2 left for the next bag that pops through. My declutter last year started with a little look through my wardrobe for some summer stuff and ended with huge piles on the bed and a very harsh "chuck it " or wear it decision :D Now have lots more space and it does feel good but I would also second OL..start with one small space ...its addictive so I bet you carry on

Working today but at least its from home... have a conference/video call at 9 which has meant having to dress appropriately from the waist upwards but do have pj bottoms on :D Hate these calls and see no reason why they insist on video ....mind you at least i can flash my tan :) After that its back to filling the diary and hoping to get some more work for Jan/Feb.

Food last night was kiev and chips but left most of it for some reason...no appetite. Thinking Ill go with a turkey caesar salad today and maybe some soup at some point.

    Have a great Monday all

    Morning everyone,

Sorry to have missed the party yesterday but I was having a snuggly kind of day with my beloved and hated to leave :D
I have my last physio class this morning, touching wood my knees seems a lot better nowadays, so hopefully will get signed off next week when I actually see my therapist. Other than that it’s a bit of a tidy around, I also have a new TD coming tomorrow so need to get the old one out to the shed for taking to the dump at some point, I’ve had it for 32 years and it owes me nothing but goodness knows how uneconomical it had become!

Have a good day folks and take care all x
  • Morning all, thank you for starting us off Dumpling. Great to know that you're getting better and I hope you get the support you need from the cmht.

I'm a bit tired, having managed to get up at 3 by accident. I didn't put my specs on before looking at the clock, it is one of those horrid digital things and I thought it said 5.00 so git up and by tge time I twigged, I was wide awake. Still I've put the time to good use.

Dull here, with rain forecast hut the way the weatherman is going, that probably means either tropical heat or snow.

TA when I try to declutter I concentrate on one thing such as filling a big bag with books for the CS. But decluttering seems to apply only to me, the chaps are such hoarders. Still, their tendency to hoard does mean that I get a real frisson of excitement if I wrest something from their hands and chuck it out.

I'm going to have some toast and then get on with some jobs. Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
  • TA, if you are going to town today why not put say 2 things in a carrier bag and drop them at the charity shop, its easier if you just make small steps.
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Sorry I missed the party and sitting in Gers new chair. I fell asleep on the settee, guess what? Yes I was awake at 1am and could not get back to sleep, it was after 5am when I finally dozed off.

Dumpling, glad to hear you are feeling better, please do not try to do too much, you need rest........

Washer is on, its going in the dryer, two loads to go through today, OH has a fleece jacket that looks disgusting.

I am expecting our friend to come and help me to put the new drawer units etc together. I could to the actual unit myself its quite easy, but not the drawers.......then the thread boxes need doing. It will be good to get all my threads in one place where I can put my hand out and get them. The bottom drawer of the unit will have the big cops og thread in.

Cold lamb for supper tonight, will possibly do veg with it again, have veg to use up. Banana for dessert.

Morning all! fairly early to the party today, I have no trouble sleeping [so far] but then, I trained myself to sleep anywhere and for any amount of time - years of going out, thus getting to bed late and having to wake up early for work, meant I was a ninja napper :) So while Idon't recommend constant partying as a way of life, it might help :)
Garden and shower today I think, accompanied by some kind of chicken thigh cookery, I might dig the book out that tells you how to do takeaway food yourself, think it's called the Takeaway Secret, will look for the KFC recipe...Or a chasseur or something....Suppose the latter woud be better, not much faffing involved in that. The liver is still in the freezer. After lunch out yesterday there was no way anything would fit in except about 4 cups of tea yesterday....
    OH still in bed.

Happy house trimming TA, I get the same thing ometimes, the desire to chuck eveything out, then I wander from room to room with a black bag, half fill it and then give up. There;s so much, I don't know where to start. It doesn' help that we haven't got any sorage or that I am an ex 'that'll come in handy' type person :) shame youre not closer csarina, I'm the flatpack queen...Good to hear the anti's are working dumpling and you're better. Hide the poinsettia Gers. My friend gave me one [ I don't do indoor plants] it died due to lack of water...And I could never get the name right, called them poisonettas for years before I realised what the actual name was. RR, if you leave anything metal outside here it'll go within hours, scrap metal is worth something again. Also, in the motors, there's quite a bit of copper, and that's always worth something. NIce to see you Speky. Nelski, loving the conference-wear :) Morning Poppy, mornng Holly...
Happy first day of the week...

dumpling, I'm glad you are feeling a bit better physically, I hop you get a good response from your MHT, especially after all the publicity about better MH treatment that was on the news yesterday.

I'm glad you are getting involved in things in Manchester Speky.

Hugs, silver-oldie, it must be so hard.

Steve had a bad day yesterday which always makes him worry (understandably) but I managed to talk him down and he feels quite a bit better today.

I decluttered my sock drawer, I was finding it hard to close. I have cleared out all my old stay-ups because now I'm not working I hardly wear them at all. In fact, usually if I need them it's an occasion like a wedding or a funeral and I buy new so I just kept one pair of each colour. I also put some socks aside for the CS.

I also unpacked the overlocker I got for Christmas. It was already threaded but wasn't sewing properly so I had to re-thread it. It wasn't as tricky as I have read some of them could be so I'm glad I did it (usually the advice is to tie the new thread to the old so that it gets pulled through the machine).

I also made some Jerusalem Artichoke soup and Aubergine and Chorizo stew so quite productive. The meals on the diet are very filling so I haven't been too deprived yet.
