  • You've got this pendulumman! I can totally relate and long for that sense of calm. Keep going with the steps and reduced calories as a new healthier you is waiting to be found.

  • Free listings on ebay? Hmmm. Something to consider. That might lead to me being a bit more discriminating in my decluttering. Thanks for the headsup. Still can't do all that thanking the items business that everyone seems to be into, and all the clothes I rolled up neatly into a drawer unfurled themselves rendering the drawer inaccessible without dismantling the whole unit.

Hit the 10k steps mark today, ate healthily and just bought a couple of books for my DS. Am putting off looking at the bank account.

Bit the bullet and it was tastier than expected. I have been quietly catastrophising how it must be - and it's nothing like as bad as I feared. Just need to shift three cards onto my new 0% card and see if I can get the overdraft off my back and I'll be coping. This is the first time in forever that I've got a new card and not looked at it as free or available money. It is a ladder. And I need to use it wisely to climb away from trouble. And it's going to take a lot of climbing as trouble and me seem to meet up fairly regularly.
  • Well done for how you’re handling the new cc. One of my Lbm s was to realise that I didn’t have 2 paydays a month - when I got paid and the first day of the cc billing cycle.

  • Sounds like you are making great progress. On the counselling front, there is some research to suggest that it can be counterproductive when dealing with trauma, especially if mindfulness is in the mix. Sometimes we need to not think about stuff in order to be able to move on. Of course this can all change if the past is holding you back, but it turns out that a stiff upper lip approach is not always bad!

Anger can be motivating, but I guess you need to watch out that you're not hurting yourself rather than sorting the problems in front of you.
  • Well that's Monday largely dealt with. Took out my frustrations (from a vile day at work) on the treadmill and the punchbag and have once again exceeded step target and come in under budget on the calories. Zero spend day as well. Now I need to settle down with a strong coffee and some good TV.
  • Good morning Pendulum Man.

Just popping in to say a big WELL DONE. You can do this you know!

  • Another Tuesday survived, 12500 steps and more pounding of the treadmill and punchbag. Weight going south again. Have attained what must surely be the apex of life organisation by having my clothes already set out (well, thrown on the back of a chair) ready for tomorrow. I was delighted to find my skipsized Hippobag waiting for me on my return from work and have already made a start on decluttering the garden - a few chairs, lights and random bits of kitchen have already gone and I plan to spend whatever daylight I have left tomorrow after work making a start on the piles of wood which would be useful were to be an offgridder. But as I'm not a bearded Alaskan I really don't need it. The pile may well holding up a neighbouring fence but I'll take that chance. And the kettle and the microwave have gone from the shed. They were perfectly usable (until I put them in the shed) but I have to face facts that my shed is not a haven on the tundra miles from civilisation, but in the corner of a small garden in South East London with a perfectly functioning kitchen within arm's length. I also have to deal with the utterly futile collection of marble worktop offcuts that I thought would be useful. But unless I want to build a small marble model village then I have no earthly reason to keep them. The same can also be said for the metres of coaxial cable I have. And my collection of SCART leads.

So, other than developing a tendency to go all whimsical at the thought of old cables, it's been a good day. But the next storm is brewing. And I think it'll be a big one.

Listing on Eb*y for private sellers have been 'free' for ever now....rolling offer from month to month....I havent paid listing fees for years and I dont start ant item below £5 with postage or £10 postage free. Recently rekindled my affair with eb*y and it has been quite productive :)

You seem to be making progress on may fronts Mr P :)
