So on the plus side, weight now down to 159.7kg so can begin the regular ritual of scale torture. And managed to be accepted for a decent card with a 28 month interest free balance transfer period so should be able to have all my debt at 0%. Trainer session with the gym went well - really enjoyable. Haven't been back this week yet though - weather permitting will get down there tonight. Work also appears to be trundling along quite well.
And on the minus side, err, well, not much. There's an eerie and unfamiliar calm about my life at the moment. This Pendulum is not swinging wildly. Am sure it will be business as usual soon enough, so for now I will enjoy this vague sense of contentment.0 -

Today's been an object lesson in faking it til you make it. From the not-a-worry-in-the-world post early this morning right til now - I put a mask on and it worked. People at work were commenting on how well I looked, I got invited by management to the sort of meeting they usually wouldn't want me even being in the same postcode as, and I've kept at 2000 calories and am just about to trudge my 10000th step. Whereas old me would have been well into the second bottle of strong stuff by now. I'm not going to go into details but suffice to say that the AncestryDNA results I got last night have led to a lot of questions being answered. I'm sitting on it cos there is no point digging up the past but I know now a lot more about myself and it ain't pretty. So, time to put the mask back on and trundle merrily onwards - looking back will solve nothing. Looking forward is the only way I'm going to survive this.0

You certainly will. Dont forget you may need to release a bit of steam though every now and then. The cortisol v oxytocin paradox....hmmm maybe not paradoxical...what I am clumsily saying is, it is OK to be not OK.
I had a meeting of sorts today with SLT and wished I was in a different postcode. Next time I will imagine I am. Thank you for that!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Still grinning through the rage. Almost 12k steps done today, gave the boxing bag a serious pasting and have kept under 2000 calories, and dropped another half a kilo this morning. Awaiting the much-hyped snow tonight to enable the weekend to start early. I've got a great deal on my gym membership as it includes some PT sessions as well, but an even greater deal would be to have no deal - so I'm going to pull out after the trial period of 3 months is over, take the plans from the trainer and just do them at home. Anyway, there is a lonely cat downstairs balefully mewing, so I need to go down and keep her company and find some Channel 5 shockdoc to vicariously make me feel better.0

4kg lost in a week. Impressive but not healthy or maintainable. Which is likely also true for my current apparent nonchalance. In reality what's keeping me from the park bench with a bottle of Scotch this morning is the treadmill, boxing bag and a desire to spite my genetic history of deceitful dead drunks.0

The weight loss will slow down but as long as it comes off and stays off..........I am guessing you have to lose to help your health?? I am losing as it is better for my knees and I want to move more easily/quicker and quite frankly when I retire (early) I want an active retirement not one propped up by the NHS.
Stay away from the park bench and the Scotch!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Do you feel that the gym and the PT sessions keep you motivated? If so, please consider keeping them up even if you cut down on the PT session a bit, if money is the reason you are considering giving them up for now. As you said before, your health is the most important thing.
Also, as you said yourself, you are unlikely to be able to keep the amount you are losing now up, but it's a good motivator for now, no? Perhaps this will help you get through if there comes a point where you plateau.
Keep going. We are rooting for you! :TDebt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20

Strange few days in PendulumLand but I think the waters are calming. Didn't go off the rails like I thought I would, and work is still trundling along well. Just completely forgot about exercising and it's had a direct impact on my mental and physical wellbeing. Reached out to an old friend last night regarding my DNA test bombshell and whilst there's been no response, just putting it down in words made it somehow more manageable. Spoke to the personal trainer yesterday and have agreed to do one more session next week before jacking it all in. And have spent some 'positive' money on a Hippobag for a planned final assault on the clutter-filled shed.0

A clutter-filled shed? I have a whole house full! :rotfl:
Apparently Ebay are going to allow private sellers to list for free from next month so I'm waiting until then.
