  • Evening Sunday

Nice steady Sunday here in Yorkshire, the weather was lovely too. We did the food shop, took the girls to swimming lessons and my Brother and SIL stopped by for a coffee and to drop off youngest's birthday gift. The also brought some treats for the dog so he was one happy pooch.

Food shop came in at £85.84, I do however, still need to get some dog food so that will be another £4. I have also sponsored my brother £5 he is raising money for Alzheimer's Society, taken this out of food budget so that leaves £8.00. Its a charity close to our heart my step dad was diagnosed with the disease at only 58 years old and took him from us at 66.

Next 2 weeks it is OH turn to get the food shop.

So I am ending the week on..........

    Weekly Entertainment budget - £10.63/£24.00
    Monthly Entertainment budget - £30.00/£90.00
Youngest birthday bits and pieces - £22.89/£65.00
    Food - £192.00/£200.00
    Birthdays - £275/£275

I have nearly caught up with the washing but still haven't done the ironing MUST DO BETTER but the girls school uniform is all ready. If I am feeling energetic I may do some first thing.

Tomorrow I need to get my friend a gift card, my other friend a 30th gift and my mum is picking up a 6 balloon and some dog food for me, so it will be a bit of a spendy day but all budgeted for.

I have decided not to include my travel to work as a spend as this is budgeted for and when buying in advance if I don't use the ticket like I did last week I am not guaranteed a refund.

Managed to do an average of 15,000 per day last week, after a few days of over indulgences I need to get back on the ww plan and get on with losing a stone before our holidays in August. I feel bloated and lethargic, enough is enough.

So this weeks challenge is to...

    0-5k - start at week 2
    10,000 steps per day
    2ltrs water per day
    2 NSD's - Wednesday and Thursday

Just catching up on Friday's NCIS, other diaries and its an early night for me.

    Enjoy the rest of Sunday

  • Morning Monday,

Late to work due to trains cancelled, delayed and then I am so mad with myself I have left my lunch on the kitchen table and my fruit for snacks ! I’m here until 6.30pm and will not last until then. Arghhh

I am actually begrudging spending money on lunch this is in unheard of !!

The sun is shining so can’t complain

  • Evening Monday

Still issues with the train I didnt get home until 7.45pm, had tea then got ourselves ready for youngest's birthday tomorrow, sorted washing and washing up now just surrounded by gifts, money (not a lot of it) and receipts.

Well spendy Sue was out in force today, I got myself in a tizz with my cash envelopes so need to sort them out. Right here goes:

    30th birthday gift - £2.99
    Gift bags x 3 - £1.98
    Cereal bars - £1.00
    Chocolates /Sweets - £2.89
    Birthday Card - £1.00
Present for kids party on Sunday - £6.25
    Gift Voucher - £20.00
    Lunch - £4.04
    Paracetamol - 0.39
    Dog Food - £3.27

    Total 43.81

There were some half price candles I nearly bought after I had a sense check and reminded myself that I have 3 i got for gifts at Christmas and my birthday in stock and two still on the go.

BIG fail for a NSD and lunch to work ! Working from home tomorrow but will definitely not making the same mistake again for lunch Wed and Thurs.

    Steps 13,730
    Water: 2ltrs

Right off to balance my budgets.

    Enjoy the rest of Monday.

  • Phew just finished updating budgets also forgot my mum bought the birthday balloon for me today so owe her £6.50 for that tomorrow.

    Weekly Entertainment budget - £23.20/£24.00
    Monthly Entertainment budget - £30.00/£90.00
Youngest birthday bits and pieces - £22.89/£65.00
    Food - £196.27/£200.00
    Birthdays - £271.97/£275

So £3.03 under on the birthday budget, and for some reason I have 5p extra from somewhere - so the 3.08 I am going to put it to one side and once I have got the next few days out of the way with youngest party and friends visiting will take stock and see whats what and decide what to do with any under spends.

I have £35.00 for youngest birthday tea tomorrow, ideally would of liked £40.00 but I am sure it will be enough.

    Best wishes

    Hi Tuesday

What a lovely day shame I’ve been cooped up for 5 hours working but finished now and off to pick up the girls in 10mins

My youngest turned 6 today - this time 6 years ago I was pacing round the bedroom in labour !! Time flies She had a lovely morning opening her presents and has a couple of cards and gifts to open when she gets home.

As February is about to come to a close I will be thinking of some financial and personal goals for March. I need to save £’s and loose lbs ! As I have 80p left in my entertainment budget for the week I anticipate a NSD Wednesday and Thursday (every cloud!!)

Right better get my skates on

    Have a fun Tuesday

Happy Birthday to your DD and well done on coming in under budget. You're keeping track of your money really well :T Can't believe we're nearly at the end of another month, but it's good to have the chance to re-think what we want from a new one. I'll be doing things a bit differently myself in March.

Enjoy the rest of the day with your special birthday girl and your family :) xx
  • Aw thanks Tea, the birthday girl is now fast asleep :-) and thank you I am wanting to keep this up its making me so much more mindful of what I am spending and also anxious to get on here and update asap. Ha who would of thought

Yes you are right that another month is good to re-think and take stock. Try different things too.

Hope you had a lovely day
