Item not paid

Sold an item on New Years Day (eBay auction) not paid yet.
Should I wait for eBay to send invoice after 2 days or should I issue my own invoice now?

I'd issue another invoice now yourself.

I see no reason not to send an invoice - if someone hasn't paid by the time I log in then I always send one.

I sent an invoice this afternoon (exactly 2 days since purchase) but still nothing.
How long is reasonable to wait before escalating?

It's personal. I don't wait. I open a NPB after day 2 but I don't do many auctions (I use BIN) but I block, NPB and then wait until I can close (4 days later) and move on.

Let ebay go through the process, if you needed the money straight away, should have done a BIN

It's not a case of BIN for needing the money, the OP chose to list as an auction. People listing auctions aren't in need of money per se....

If the buyer doesn't pay then they deserve a NPB strike, but when that's issued depends entirely on the seller.

It's only been 3 days since the auction was won.

But that isn't the point you were making.

As an occasional ebay buyer & seller, I'd not presume the lucky winner has quite got their head in the game yet. So yes, a reminder invoice, but give them a chance to get the rest of the household off to school etc before really going for them?

Thank you! For fighting my corner the onlywayisup.

Whether I need the money or not (which I don't ) is totally not the issue. I usually use BIN but thought I would have a go at auctions to see if sales were any better. So far so bad!

I know its only been a few days but that is why I was asking on here as I have not had this happen before.

Thanks for the "helpful" comments and advice. I will send another invoice now and if no joy then I will take it further.
