Not much going on here either - having a rest for a few days. I left the repotted tomatoes in the greenhouse, then went and rescued them yesterday. I still need to find a safe place to put them for a few weeks. Got another propagator ready to sow something else today - maybe courgettes or more tomatoes
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0 -
I dropped in to B & Q as soon as it opened this morning to buy a pack of Scotch Bonnet seeds for my son in law, and there was a huge collection of flower and veg. seeds reduced to 50p packet. They are all well within date and although the Scotch Bonnet weren't included (they were £1.80 for a full priced packet) I managed to find 22 packets, mainly vegetable but the odd butterfly-loving flower as well. A lot of the packets had been £2.79 at full price, so I think I got quite a bargain. Lots of work, though!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

I went in about two weeks ago and saw the 50p basket. Whilst looking a member of staff came over and offered me a bag and a managers special bar code and told me to take my fill. So it was 50p for a small bag of the 50p seeds. I came out with 20 packets i think but told the checkout operator to put it through twice (so £1) as i felt bad.
So if someone does go in for this offer, might be worth asking about managers special bar code. The store i went in though is notorious for not following procedure when it comes to mark downs and clearance though.0 -

I dont really have much of an update for me at the moment
Spuds are chitting away nicely but we need to get some compost so that we can start planting in pots before putting the others out but the out ones wont happen until probably the end of the month now. I still have to dig the whole area where I want them. Being early March, the only time i can do it is weekends and its sods law that its nice weather in the week and rubbish at weekends :rotfl:

Crazy busy day for me. Moved 4000L of horse manure and planted 30 strawberry plants some in pots and some in the ground to compare which is best.
My fruit order arrived earlier than expected so I have loads of raspberry canes and a couple of rhubarb that I need to plant tomorrow. I will probably have to try and get an early start as I will be busy with work also tomorrow.
I am loving my new gardening hobby but hoping for a day off soon! Thanks to all the lovely posters who have offered me advice in my recent threads - it's a big learning curve0
