Love the phrase..."better class of clutter"...:rotfl: When we have done car boots, I used to say to OH that there was good quality stuff and then there was the tat...The tat might as well be priced at 10p each as it will only invite the hagglers and people that don't really want to spend anything. TBH, I would rather give the cheap rubbish to charity than haggle over the price. But you can always tell the people that genuinely want something and are prepared to pay a fair price for it.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)
EF £200 Mortgage OP's this year £115

Hope all is ok, and the difficulties you anticipated sort themselves out without too much aggravation.
With regard to older posts on chronic pain, I got a prescription for a solution of morphine sulfate on Monday. It was supposed to be better than the Tramadol - wow, didn't even touch it ! Am back on the Tramadol which has at least a small effect !!0 -

Very observant of you.KC:). I think you'll find my green light is always on. I never log out of MSE when I leave the website and every time I come on to read or post I notice my light is on. At the time you posted I think my laptop was switched off but can't be sure. It's been a funny day really and I seem to have lost track of time. I even fell asleep in my chair this afternoon:o. I get more like my Granny every day:eek:. I wish I was where you are at the moment, in London in a swish flat with cats for company. I hope you're enjoying the change of routine:beer:HairyHandofDartmoor wrote: »I hope you're okay Carboot. Let us know how you're getting on when you're able to. Thinking of you.
Thank you, HH:). I had a quick read of your diary and am pleased that your Mr Bump costume was a success:beer:. Well done on your successful assessment too:T. I haven't had much to report on developments here although should have next week after the surveying team have been on Monday:eek:elizabethhull wrote: »Hope all is ok, and the difficulties you anticipated sort themselves out without too much aggravation.

Thank you, Elizabeth:). I'm so sorry to hear that you are still experiencing chronic pain. May I ask which part of your body is affected? My neuralgia has eased considerably recently which puts paid to my theory that it tended to be stress-related:eek:. It hasn't cured itself, it's lying in wait ready for the next bout:(. Every day I don't have the pain (or more usually night-time which tends to be when it's worst) I thank my lucky stars.0 -
Fingers crossed for Monday then Carboot. In the meantime you've got three days when you should try not to think about it. Maybe you could do some hobbies or activities you enjoy to relax you and take your mind off things

It's always good to be thankful where one can and to realise that most of the time things could be a lot worse. I have it drummed into DD1&2 that they should be thankful for clean running water and being women in a Western society.
Fingers crossed for your neuralgia staying dormant as long as possible.
As for my pains, oh dear, you might wish you hadn't asked !! It's both hips, very low back on both sides (well, my bum really!), then right groin, thigh and shin. Had an x-ray this week so maybe when I next see the doctor he might have a better idea of what's going on. I don't have good or bad days, but good or bad minutes - the intensity & focus of pain moves around throughout the day and night, but I am excellent at dropping back to sleep after my many wakings.
I have named OH as my 'sock-wallah' on account of needing him for my right foot. I think this naming has made him more amenable to helping.0 -

Thank you, Elizabeth.
I certainly don't wish I hadn't asked. Well, I do if it distressed you to talk about it but otherwise it's very sobering to realise what other people have to endure every day of their lives. People like you who always seem so cheerful and take the time to help and encourage everyone else are an object lesson to the rest of us who have to put up with so little in comparison:A.
I always feel so guilty when I have a moan especially about anything health-related:o. To have reached my 70s still fit and active is something I'm grateful for every single day. I know I developed this B12 deficiency recently but it can be kept under control and doesn't really stop me doing anything I want to do. Apart that is from when it's almost time for my next 3-monthly injection when I feel a bit more tired than usual. I can still do things even then, it just takes a bit longer:(. The neuralgia is the only pain I ever suffer so I think I'm getting away very lightly:j. Even all that furniture-shifting OH and I did recently only resulted in minor stiffness the next day. No repercussions beyond that:j. OH is even older than me:eek: and he commented that we'd done really well to get such a lot of heavy physical work done in such a short time.
I hope your x-ray helps in a more specific diagnosis and, hopefully, a more permanent cure than ultra-strong painkillers. Take care xx0
