Sort of debt-free but hope to be a super-scrimper in 2019

The ones we sell at now tend to have later starts. We do an afternoon one mostly but this was a morning one. We used to do an early one, but that has gone downhill and now we've got the kids it's not so easy.
I hate the people who pile into the car. I've got very proficient at shutting the boot again if they come near and telling them to get out. I also bump up the prices when they askI tell them if it's still there later, they can try again. There is nothing worse than seeing someone sell something for a pittance to a trader who has intimidated them when I would have paid the original price they were asking for.
There are so few later-start ones round here:(
I like your strategies for dealing with the traders:beer:. I leave my 'best' stuff buried at the back of the boot and unpack all the 'tat' first. They descend as soon as people arrive and after watching me set up the table and dragging out lots of uninteresting (to them at least) and cheap items they go on their way to bother someone else. I usually wave towards the unloaded boxes and say something like I've nothing you'll be interested in, it's all like this.
We've been beavering away getting everything cleared for the surveyor tomorrow. I just hope he turns up after all that. He wants to see the floors in all downstairs rooms so we've had to move most of the furniture so we could roll up the carpets. It's a big house and OH and I are so tired. Trying to make so much stuff (not necessarily clutter, just normal life's stuff) 'disappear' even temporarily has worn us out:eek:. It's a sobering thought that we can't do as much as quickly as we used to be able to. Neither of us likes to acknowledge that we're getting on a bit:o. Luckily, the good weather means that moving lots of furniture to the garage etc has been incident-free:j.
One good news item to announce. My first defaulted account has now disappeared from my credit file:j. My credit score hasn't dramatically improved, barely at all really:(, but it's a red-letter day for me anyway. 2 more accounts will drop off by June and the others by the end of the year.
I hope everyone reading this is still enjoying the lovely weather:beer:. It looks as if normal temperatures are set to return from tomorrow and even rain and wind are forecast for the weekend:(0 -
Well done on the account disappearing, CBC! You've worked so hard to get where you are. Sorry you're that tired though - I do know what you mean, even though I'm a few years younger than you. Its hard to accept the limitations when you feel no different inside.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

That's great news about losing one of your defaults Carboot :T. I've got three years before any of mine drop off sadly
.
I can understand how tiring it must be for you to have to clear so many rooms. I know that would tire anyone no matter what age they were, so I can appreciate how exhausted you must both be feeling.
I hope the surveyor turns up tomorrow. Hopefully he'll give you some verbal feedback so that you don't have to wait for the written report.

Good luck with the surveyor - gosh, that degree of furniture-moving would tire anyone out ! Can any of the stuff you've made 'disappear' do so permanently ? Sometimes the hassle of moving some things makes you realise you actually don't love them enough to want to put them back !!0

Good news re defaults disappearing.
Hope the surveyor's visit gives you some answers. Hope you'll be able to have a break from all the furniture shifting or wlll it all need to be brought back in once the surveyor has gone?0 -
Great news about the default! I've got 2-3 years left on mine I think. One was quite late too so maybe a bit longer for the last one.
