I just said to the driver that I wondered what it was and quick as a flash he said it was probably milk leaking from the seal at the top of one of the bottles (which were on their side). He then instantly refunded me the full cost of both bottles without checking which was leaking and said I could keep the milk anyway. I examined them closely before putting them in the fridge and it was just a very slight, barely detectable opening of one of the seals below the top of the smaller bottle. Not a health issue or anything. Result:T. I gained £2.13 altogether:j.

I use Asda too and they are very good about such things. Recently I dropped a yogurt at the door and it was entirely my own fault, nothing to do with the delivery guy, but he did just what you describe. So I ended up with both yogurt and money ! I did point out that it was my fault for being careless, but he was having none of it, and the money was in my account before he'd driven away !0 -

I did this but it was a total waste of time as they can't backdate or add defaults to accounts unless asked to by creditors. The reference numbers they have for the account in question are exactly the same as the ones I quoted to both New Day and Santander both by phone and letter. I triple checked each just to make sure I was doing it accurately.
It sounds like its annoying you to deal with New Day, CBC, but the reality is that they bought the debt - same as when you buy a house, you buy everything backdated to the beginning of timekind of :kisses3:
Another good note. The sun is shining and a lot of the snowdrops are out in the garden. There are big drifts of them and seeing them always lifts my spirits:j. It will be weeks yet before the daffodils bloom but they too are on their way.and the new shoots on my rhubarb aren't dying of frost either, they're getting stronger! This is the second day when I've been in the garden that I've really felt spring is on the way.

Did Santander say they are going to respond to your letter? If no luck there why not try complaining to the FOS or even google the Chief Exec of Santander and complain to them? I've heard of people doing that before and having some success. I'm with you, I think Santander should have been the one to default you. All of my defaults have come from the original creditor."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Sorry I've been absent for a while. I've pushed the Santander/New Day 'frog' out of sight for a day or two. It was driving me mad. I'll give it some more thought over the weekend and be all ready to pounce on Monday morning;). Thanks to everyone who offered advice on the subject, it was much appreciated:T. Even letting off steam on here about it calmed me down a lot:)
I have a table booked at a Table Top Sale next weekend and have found some reasonable items that might sell there. It's a 'posher' venue than most so I don't want to take a car full of tat:eek:. In the process of finding saleable items and sorting the wheat from the chaff so to speak I unearthed all sorts of other 'treasures' and quite by chance OH came home yesterday and told me he'd passed a village hall with a banner up announcing a similar sale tomorrow morning. He'd noted the phone number so I rang the organiser, they still had spaces available and I booked one:j. Having tables still available so near to the event made me think it won't be a very flourishing sale:(. OH said the banner was enormous and easily visible to anyone driving past so maybe there'll be plenty of potential buyers even if not many sellers. More chance for me to get rid of more clutter anyway with less competition:j0 -

Hope it goes well tomorrow
Thanks, beanielou:)
At least it's indoors and should be warm once inside the hall. I'm having to leave home at about 7.30 to drive there and get set up but no frost is threatened for tonight so there'll be no windscreen-scraping needed first thing:j. It's light quite early these mornings too which always helps. I can't believe how Spring-like it is for mid February especially after the experience of last year's snow.0 -
I'm glad you're okay, CBC - don't blame you for retreating a little in the least, especially with what you were dealing with. Hope it all goes really well tomorrow, and you come home with nothing at all2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hope the table top sale went well.
I had a debt that was sold to New Day and always found them really good to deal with. It was my smallest debt and is now paid, but they were fine when I had to contact them at the beginning of the DMP.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)
