Good morning,
Good work on the socks and the scarves Guys! I wish I had those sorts of knitting skills.........
Make Do : LO takeaway for lunch, and Beef Bouginion for tea using up some LO veg.
Mend : Quilted 2 squares on a patchwork quilt I have been 'mending' for over a year. I don't think I am quite stitching an heirloom, but it makes me happy.
Minimise : A few more things onto Ebay and tried to drop off the CS bag, but they were not taking donations
Have a lovely day0 -
Make do: LO food from stores, beef stew, cheese on HM toast with mince pies and LO cream. Yummy.
Mend: making a sleeping bag liner-type thing for my daughter to sleep in so she doesn't get fake tan on her white bedding. Not really mend I don't think.
Minimise: stewed 12 abandoned apples that were being ignored. Shoved in a pot and frozen for another day.0 -
Talking about making - does anyone have a simple prem baby pattern or link they could share with me? I am taking up the knitting needles once more!
This month I mended everything in my sewing pile - a couple of bits had been waiting 5 years or more!
I ‘minimised’ my laundry basket also - I had delicates, woollens and hand washing that has sat there since the summer before last!
I’m a bit late to this thread and I am learning to live with severe executive dysfunction - but I’ve made a start:j:j0 -
Afternoon,
Make do : Another lunch of cheese and biscuits etc.
Mend: Turned the mattress and put new bedding on. Short term solution to the mattress situation. Best night sleep for ages :j
Minimise : More photos of stuff to put on the Bay. Dropped off the CS bag :j

Hi everyone
Make do: made bean stew in slow cooker using some dried beans from the back of the cupboard!
Mend: nothing to mend, but keep knitting for dgs due in a few months.
House elf, thanks for reminding me about quilts, I have one I started about 2 years ago and I have to finish the embroidering the redwork on it before the top can be completed, I think I will hunt it out and start it again after the baby knitting!
Minimise: still hunting stuff out to go, I didn't think I had a lot, but I can still find a few small bits and clothes that can go!!! I went through the food cupboards and passed a few bits on as well.

My bathroom toilet seat which must be about 50 years old came off its hinges before Christmas. The bolts had rusted through and plastic covers to the bolts were broken as well. Fixed it with timber spacer washers and strong wire. All painted to match existing. I had all the materials l needed in the garage including plastic sleeve to protect the porcelain. It was only meant as a temporary fix until I redecorate, but looks so good it might end up being permanent.
Previous to that I fixed the snib of the Yale lock on my back door. The Yale lock was the most expensive and sturdy-looking lock in the hardware shop when I bought it 20 years ago, but £25 lock with 5p retaining clip holding in the snib. The clip would keep breaking and popping out because the it was just not strong enough and no matter how many times I would replace the it, the snib would continue to fail. So decided to replace the snib completely with a modified bolt and nuts with locking washers, with no flimsy clips. A really solid job even if I say so myself.0 -
