Happy New Year from me too, I am so pleased that I found this thread and look forward to a full year of counting the coupons:D
I ended the year with 4 points left. I am one of life's butterflies and become bored with what I have, so am pleased that all the new purchases have been considered ones, mostly for the CS buys too, although I did buy pinky/red cashmere/wool jumper having forgotten that I had a lovely red one bought earlier in the year, both getting lots of wear though.
Thank you all for your company and inspiration, it has been wonderful reading of the things that you have been making along the way,The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Well, ladies, what is your final coupon spend for 2019? We have Awards to issue.
Platinum Award - less than 66 coupons spent
Gold Award - 66 coupons spent
Silver Award - between 66 and 86 coupons spent
Bronze Award - between 87 and 100 coupons spent
Since I spent over 100 coupons, I don’t qualify for an award, just a “thank you for playing”.

Although I did not start posting at the very beginning of the year I had been following the thread and had been noting every purchase of clothes, accessories etc, both new and CS so I can say with accuracy that I spent 62 coupons.
I am positive that without finding the thread and joining in it would have been a lot more:D
I know that I will new structural engineering (bras) before too long and will need to save cash, to get a good fit and comfort they are flipping expensive:eek:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
I just squeaked in, having spent 64.
I'm kind of assuming that people buying thing for you as a present doesn't impact on your coupons - particularly when they bought items you wouldn't have chosen in a month of Sundays? Bless them, it was a very kind thought, & they're pretty, but they're just not the kind of thing you want in a house which specialises in Arctic blasts, but clothing for centrally-heated people! (Also, pretty doesn't work too well with cleaning out the chicken run or getting the allotment ready for spring...) I shall have to keep them & wear them - visibly - but I think they'll just have to be layered, with polo necks underneath and cardis on top. The challenge will be to make them work with things I already own. If I look like a small round ball - it's mostly clothing!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Well my total coupon spend this year was 47. I am well chuffed with that and note that we can carry over what we haven't used. What I found interesting was that my big spends seemed to be on footwear rather than anything else. The smaller spends were on fabric that I "shopped" from my stash and got from my monthly sewing box subscription. Thank you again for this thread and I will definitely be joining it again this year.Lisa x

PLATINUM MEMBER - WOOHOO!
This challenge was an absolute blessing, eye opening and informative.
I actually learnt a lot about myself emotionally too doing this - what I was using clothing for, like a crutch etc or armour against the world.
Now that I have so 'little' I only want to spend it on that which gives me joy to wear and own, so I'm actually being much more 'me' as a result.Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

Snap - I have only spent 47 coupons too!
Since I'm having problems shutting the wardrobe door on clean clothes, I'm mulling over having a cull, and getting rid of some of the more worn things. There's several pairs of knickers that are so thin you can read the Manchester Evening news through them, and a couple of t-shirts, one where the fabric is starting to go, and the other has a stain that I can't get out. As I bought it over 30 years ago, I don't think it really owes me anything!Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.

Wow, I am impressed with the restraint some of you have shown - and with the benefits you’ve found from reducing your wardrobe purchases. I’m going to try harder this year. My total spend was 71 coupons, I thought I’d blown it but from Pip’s post above it seems I qualify for ‘Silver’? I’ll take that!Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone.
