It’s good to see you posting again, Stoke.

Lush, welcome back. Good luck with the new chapter in the book of your life.

Congrats on being SOTW, g2dtn. Thanks for your hard work, Chris – and big hugs to you.

Oh no, are hoops no longer free, bubbs? I don’t have them often but I had them for lunch today. First day back on the plan and I’ve got it wrong! Typical!

I have found a home for the big box of chocs – no, not in my belly! DD mentioned last week that no one ever buys her chocolates. Since then she’s been a bit unwell (mastitis), so I think that’ll be a good home for them.

Well, I've drawn a line and starting afresh today.

    Here’s today’s menu (including those sinful hoops – that I haven’t counted)
    Breakfast: banana, Light & Free yogurt ( ½ ?)
    Snack: Quavers (4 ½ )
Lunch: those hoops on hexb toast, clementine
Dinner: (courtesy of Hello Fresh :( )
Parisienne Spiced Chicken with Blasamic Mustard Lentils and Roasted Carrots (educated guesstimate 9 syns – absolutely delicious, so not complaining)
    Snack: hexa cheese & grapes

Total syns: 14 + those hoops

Hospital appointment will mess up lunchtime tomorrow, but I intend to take charge of my own destiny, lol. See you all tomorrow.

Well done to everyone on losses.
I am new so don't know much about your story but well done Lush on taking the steps you have, sounds like the best move, hope it all goes to plan.

I've had a good first day, ate only what was planned.
I didn't get out for a run but rarely do on a Monday, it's just too hard. I fully intend to be up early and do 5K in the dark, so off to bed now.

  • Hugs for you Lush, new year, new life for you, in the words of Prof Brian Cox & Co, "things can only get better".

Thought I was going to have an iffy week this week, as was supposed to meet a friend for dinner, but that is now next Monday, which means this week I can hopefully reverse what I did and balance next week. On a mission to lose 7lbs before I go on Nile cruise first week of Feb, if I do half of that I will be happy.

Had to book a hotel last night for my last night in Egypt as get back to Cairo too late for a flight to London. Very painful £190, although to be fair, it is a Marriott. Think they are also charging for the convenience as apparently there is a walkway from the hotel to the terminal. Anyway, was going bed and remembered that I had not opened any post that had come last week, knew there was a recall letter for the car, so looked at that and opened another one also. I found and old credit card statement about 6 months ago which had PPI, so nothing to lose by writing. Initially had a response confirming that they had received my letter, but then went quiet so at that stage was entitled to involve Ombudsman. Had a letter from CC confirming misselling and enclosing a cheque. From beginning, thought in my own mind, including interest (which can amount to quite a bit if for many year) refund of PPI etc, I would be chuffed to get £1,500, never in my dreams did I expect to see a cheque for over £4,500, had to sit down in shock! Hotel now looks cheap!!!!!!!!!!!
A smile costs little but creates much :)
