OP, your story has more holes than Swiss Cheese0

Recently to pay for my holiday next year, Lloyds stopped payment to Beardie's airline. I received a text questioning the transaction, saying if this was me and was it correct. I responded accordingly and the transaction was processed soon afterwards.
It is done to prevent fraud.
If you were not expecting £3,000 pounds, then you should had questioned it.0 -

You could find that out by asking the bank.0 -
Same for me Blackbeard. There's a specific requirement made over the phone, and no transfer is made unless it can be completed.
Just my opinion, but it sounds like:
- you gave your bank details to someone so that they could transfer funds in. This was an abnormal amount of money for the account and didn't come from somewhere like Student Finance, and Lloyds were rightly suspicious of its origin;
- you knew money was being transferred in, which is why you responded yes;
- it wasn't just account and sort numbers you gave the depositers. You gave them what they would need to transfer it out again. I'm not aware of any bank which is okay with that;
- Lloyds do the right thing and block the money laundering, and put a warning marker against you so that other banks would be aware.
Why are you surprised the CIFAS marker was added even though they've told you to change banks? It's no different to insurance companies flagging people who have committed fraud - they do it to warn others in the industry.
As I said, just my opinion, but your story is so far fetched it beggars belief.LBM July 2006. Debt free 01 Sept 12 .. :T

If you interested in studying law check out Section 327 Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. This will explain why the bank have frozen your account, and why you may get a visit from the Old Bill.0
