  • Thank you so much ladies, your kindness brought a lump to my throat! Well after posting on here I went to the supermarket and bought a hair dye, whilst im saving up for a proper hair cut at least I can cover the grey! I went through my wardrobe and took out all the "summer" clothes that I didn't wear and tbh my wardrobe now looks very thin. 4 pairs of black jeans, 2 darkest blue, 2 of the same black t-shirts, 2 of the same black shirts, and about 4 other black shirts. There are some nicer smaller pieces but I won't be able to get into those!
in my clearing out frame of mind I cleared out another room and saw boxes and boxes of lovely size 10, 12 and 14 clothes. If I can lose the weight I'll have some lovely pieces to get into (im not bothered about trends and being "now" pieces - they are nice classic items that will still go today)
You've hit the nail on the head with the free stuff I can do, I dont drink any water, I only have about 5 hours sleep a night and I eat terribly.
Im going to look into the local colleges as I pass a big college on my way home from work so thats a good idea too!
I think ive just concentrated on everyone else for so long and forgotten about me! Now all people see me as the person who's negative and down all the time, I used to be so smiley, happy and confident.
Its hard when you're a full time working mum but im sure you've all been there and so im taking my inspiration from you guys!

Thank you, you dont know how much those words have made me think "right.... now its time for me!!!" I'll also start by looking for a new career (my job is a big stress in my life!) easier said than done though x

Small steps I know but each step is a step forward!
  • Time for change- It sounds like you have a big heart giving all the energy and attention to everyone else. It is admirable. Take simple steps one day at a time. I think work stress srains you and everyone really. Just look at fabbing as 10 minutes for you.
It might be as simple as lashing on a face mask while watching a film or even painting nails a new colour. Let it not add to the stress.
I am trying not to judge myself to others as we do not know what battles they face or where they are on this journey. Some have waxing and wanig fabness and others wear it as an armour, some never dwell on the rational for thier action or inaction.
Life is not easy for anyone at all times but it improves. Culling clothes is a great step as you have a capsule wardrobe and a few new items will be able to make a massive difference. It is great for the soul to see only clothes that fit and are wearable.

Absolutely! What a lovely positive post! :T

You've made a really good start today. You've got plenty of clothes (left;)) to keep you going while you tackle the weight loss. I'd suggest that if you buy anything it'll just be something like accessories or something cheap from a CS. You don't need any more 'fat' clothes. Great that you've kept the 'thin' clothes too.

You'll have to eat up what you have in (or feed it to the family) but I'd suggest you write a meal plan as soon as you can. It's very mse :money:to just buy what you'll eat but it'll help you focus on healthy eating. I don't want to push you down the SW route but having a third each of lean meat, carbs and veg across a day with limited treats is a good guide.
  • I've still got this bleep bleep cough. I hope I feel better by Thursday as that is my night out.:D

I thought I would just get up as my husband is on early shift this week. I had a hot bath with my posh Aveda oil. I'm listening to Chris Moyles on Radio X. I find him funny.:rotfl:

I'm doing a parasite cleanse starting today. I first did it last Autumn, I think. It cleanses out your digestive system and it is meant to be good for your skin too.:A

Sleep, exercise, rest, fresh air, drinking plenty of water are all free.

    Yes, totally agree.

I must say that I've neglected creaming my feet lately (since the sandal season finished:o) so I must get back to that PDQ.

    Keep dry everyone. :)

I want to start doing that again too.:)

    Good morning lovely ladies......

Going to have a well earned day off today. Going into the city centre to get my hair cut. My hairdresser is slap bang in the middle of the trendy Cathedral Quarter so I'm going to be a tourist and explore. Will treat myself to a nice lunch and have a mooch round the posh designer shops.

    Hello again.

Really pleased with my haircut. I had noticed a lot of very short bits at the front and asked my hairdresser why my hair was breaking off. He laughed and said it wasn't - it was new growth. :rotfl: Perhaps my improved health and lack of stress means my hair will finally start to thicken up and grow back. That would be nice.:D.

Had a nice mooch and picked up some lovely bits from one of the chazzers, among them a gorgeous bronze satin long swirly evening skirt for £1. Decided to pop into Primark......what a funny old shop that is. Sometimes I can't see a single thing I like, it looks just like a horrid downmarket jumble sale and then I go another time and find loads of things I really fancy.

Today was just such a day so given that I am still on a mission to replenish my winter wardrobe after losing weight, I ended up with 3 tunic dresses and 3 sweaters.....and all for the princely sum of £52.50. Really nice items too. The sizing is funny though, what I bought varied from a size 12 through to a size 18. .....still it doesnt really matter what the label says, if it fits, it fits. :rotfl:

    :AHello Ladies,

    Welcome Time To Change
    . :D

I have a lot of weight to lose too as I am currently near to 16 stones in weight having gained weight (7 pounds) again over the last 6 months. I can remember years ago when I wore head to toe black most days, as the truth was, I wanted to 'disappear' because I felt too fat to draw attention to myself. :(

I am so glad that those years are behind me and even though I am still obese at present. I have taken to wearing really stylish clothes, shoes and accessories in all the shades of the rainbow having discovered that I look so good in colour. I do almost all of my shopping on eBay and this has allowed me to look really stylish, feminine and groomed without having to spend a lot of money on my purchases. :D

I got my 37 year old son a Superdry jacket for his 38th birthday, and a Superdry jacket each for my 27 year old daughter and my 19 year old son's Christmas presents today as I could also use a 20% off code on top of the reductions I was getting buying them from the eBay Superdry shop. :T

I bought books from eBay and Amazon from the list that my 13 year old and 14 year old granddaughters wrote for their Christmas presents at the weekend, so they are sorted. :D

Over the next few weeks I will continue to scour eBay for Christmas presents for my 18 year old granddaughter my 20 year old grandson and my 38 year old daughter's (soon to be 39) Christmas presents. :)

I have taken it easy for a few days last week, as I was trying to get over my cold, but it still lingers on. I went to the pub for a night of dancing and I had a good evening dancing my legs off. :D

I never fail to be impressed by how organised you are with your gift shopping sugarbaby. Those jackets sound like lovely gifts anyone would like to have. :)

I really should spend more time looking at eBay . My DD1 buys quite a lot on there, particularly handbags. DH spends a lot on there too, mainly on out of print history books which are cheap enough but he does splash out on an occasional antiquarian map which is his passion. He has our Nectar card linked to eBay so we get points. It's surprising how they build up particularly as I don't buy that much in Sainsbury's.

It was my art appreciation group last night, the first one after the summer break. It was really good featuring the art of Tudor times. It made me smile when the lecturer was describing the 'power stance' of Henry V111's portraits as so many politicians use it today. The paintings aren't realistic but hugely full of symbolism.

Strange little tip that I picked up in the newspaper. One of the feature writers was saying how long it feels waiting two minutes (she has an electric toothbrush with a timer) to clean your teeth. Someone wrote in and suggested doing a yoga pose, standing on one leg, at the same time. I thought that was a brilliant idea as it strengthens muscles and helps posture. :D I swap legs as I go from top teeth to bottom teeth. I can't do the 'flamingo' properly yet so I just cross one foot over the standing one. I haven't fallen over yet!:rotfl:

Thanks to sugar I have an eBay addiction and I always check eBay if I’m after a specific item before purchasing elsewhere. One of my best purchases was buying DS a suit for his first holy communion. Suits were coming up at around £100 in Next and Debenhams and I bought a brand new suit from eBay for £25. It’s DDs turn next year and I have just ordered her a brand new first holy communion dress for £20. Although it’s not until next year, the dresses sell out in the spring, so I thought I should get in quickly.

I also bought myself a dress from eBay. I don’t like buying clothes from eBay as I like to try them on, but it’s a wrap dress, so it’s adjustable.

Maman your art appreciation class sounds interesting. I recently saw Bankys exhibition https://www.mylondon.news/news/south-london-news/banksys-croydon-gross-domestic-product-17079327 exhibition and I actually enjoyed it. I’ve always thought that modern art was a load of pretentious !!!!!!£ry but I enjoyed the concept.

    Hello Ladies,

Thank you Mamam and Chanie :D

I went to watch This Day Shall Come yesterday at Streatham Odeon, but it was not a film that I enjoyed. I found the subject matter disturbing for a film billed as a 'super farce' :(

I am still getting over my cold, so I am taking it easy. :)

I bought one of the Elle beauty boxes for only £33 with products worth £221 for my 18 year old granddaughter's Christmas present. She loves make up and perfume, so she is going to love this present. Thanks to the MSE weekly newsletter for the heads up on this bargain buy :j:D:T
