Not posted for a while. We went to a wedding in Italy for a few days which was good fun so lots of money decluttered and came home and then my back went.

972-974 documents of wool, thread and bits of material which I will never use.
    975 paperwork shredded
975 packaging recycled which had been left lying about
976-977 shampoo samples used up and binned.
978-979 moisturizer samples used up and binned
980 old hand cream thrown away
981-982 handbags thrown away. They have both seen better days and I won't use them again.
983 swimming costume binned the fabric is starting to go.
984-988 pants. They aren't cotton so I never wear tbem.
    989 a old t shirt binned
    990 an old skirt binned.
991-992 instruction booklets recycled. They aren't needed anymore.
993-994 a broken electric toothbrush and spare brush head binned
995 old emails deleted and unsubscribed from some.

I will do more later after a break for my back to recover.
  • SM (stepmum) offered me a load of her cookery books yesterday. I turned them down. Once I would have felt guilty and taken them anyway, now I don’t. It’s my life and I will live it my way. The olds are moving from a 6 bed very large house stuffed to the gills, to a 3 bed smaller house. Dad still thinks it won’t be big enough, and there is only the two of them. My family of five humans, and multiple pets, would easily fit in it. They are one of the reasons I began decluttering, I can’t stand the thought of leaving my kids the same amount of stuff the olds are leaving behind.

Thursday warmed up considerably - sunshine in blue skies. DSis washed her bedding - 2 loads which she line dried as there was also a brisk breeze :T Unfortunately the new mattress took considerably longer than 2 hours to air & had to be turned over as well :( 14 hours later the smell had gone - good job it had been delivered so early, otherwise DSis would have been going to bed at 8:00 a.m. :rotfl: I did a smallish sm shop - walked past the dock & we have a few swans, at least a dozen Canada Geese, Greylags, a solitary crested grebe :) & the ubiquitous seagulls :( Found 20p in sm :T On my return shopping put away + prepped & froze the pears & rhubarb but leaving the Bramleys until today - there are lots ;) DH has cemented in half the course of bricks round the garden bed & will finish today. Dinner was oven baked sausages & tomatoes with mash & baked beans - yummy 🤤

Friday is another lovely autumn day - sunshine & blue skies but not yet very warm..
My cleaning rota has gone to pot :o - one excuse is that I haven’t printed it ....yet :rotfl: but I will get on track, I WILL get on track, I WILL GET on track, I WILL GET ON track, I WILL GET ON TRACK ! I need to make a few phone calls this morning, sort some paperwork & sort the Bramleys & then get my cleaning hat on :rotfl: but first I must drink my tea :rotfl:

3242 - 3269 Eighteen lots of cardboard packaging, paper packaging, plastic box & lid, plastic pot & lid, 60 page brochure, 0.25” paperwork, 2 food cans, 3 drinks cans, glass bottle & metal lid - Recycled
3270 - 3273 Two bags of kitchen detritus (peelings composted or put in wormery), handful of shredding, plastic tray (that fox had piddled on_pale) - Binned

Whmf00001, not often that Justin proves useful ;) but he has done in this instance - that’s how he lures you in :rotfl:

    Ah, thanks choille :D

Bit of a drastic decluttering method Happy Kitties ;) but if it works for you, go for it :rotfl:

    Well Done Barny1979 :T

Oh IrishRose12, glad the mouth is feeling better, but ouch to the bite. In my bitter experience (with gum infections :() antibiotics don’t usually kick in until 5 days into an 7 day course, so 🤞 that you start to notice a difference soon.

    Well Done Rootle :T & breathe ;)

Excellent work on the digital decluttering oceanspirit :T Well Done on the tidying & sorting out niggly jobs (they do count as decluttering ;) you know :D I am always surprised at the uplift in spirits when things are tidy :D You are being awarded a Gold Star ⭐️ as I :rotfl: when I read about your sparkly sink & the frequent visits to the bathroom to admire your handiwork- you have brightened my day considerably - there is hope for all of us :T:T

Well Done on the decluttering TC77:T Will you be saving the rest of the containers once DD1 has chosen? or will Justin be a bit sad because you are disposing of a few more :rotfl:

Villagelife, the Italian wedding sounds absolutely wonderful :D The last & only Italian wedding I went to I was about 7 years old (bridesmaid for my auntie to be :). I still have very fond memories :D Ouch - hope your back recovers quickly but don’t rush it. Just 5 more items & you are into quadruple digits - then you can have some cake 🍰 :D

Anyway I need to get my ‘arris in gear :rotfl: so see you all later

  • Gave old newspaper to dd who said there was more than expected. I have the same amount still here so made her take it anyway, she can dispose of it. Have room in little outside storage cupboard now so THINKING of keeping some milk bottles to make a sort of row of "pots" to put plants in hanginf on a pole or something for next year. Note THINKING I do a lot of that.

  • Thank you for my gold star Mrs SD. The tidying has made a massive difference and my bedroom feels positively bare - I'm so used to seeing big piles of clothes and books that it almost feels uncomfortably empty in a couple of places. Does that sound weird? There are still more piles to go, so I'll be in my cluttered comfort zone for a little longer whilst I get used to the barer spots.

Took a couple of things back to a friend today - only taken me 6 months to get around to it and it feels sooooo good. Little things, eh?

Today's scores - 2 old emails and 11 pieces of paperwork.

  • Hi everyone
Good news, I can eat properly again :Tall-be-it on the other side of my mouth :rotfl: but I'm not hungry anymore :j
Bad news is this bite is getting on my last nerve now:( it's really sore, and angry. Have been searching the internet to find ways to get it to burst on it's own but nothing successful yet.

But thanks to MrsSD and your info regarding the antibiotics, I'm counting down the days lol.

Managed a bit of decluttering today:T 2 bags of recycling away and posted back two tshirts that were too big for me.
Phoned up to arrange for my computer to be repaired, have to back up all my files as it seems the darn thing can give up the ghost anytime:eek: so everything saved to a USB stick and lots of things deleted so I suppose more decluttering done than I realised:rotfl:

Have to drop off my computer tomorrow to be looked at, and if my side is no better I think I'll definitely be paying a visit to either A&E or the out of hours doctor as I do think it needs opened up and drained

  • Another bag of stuff gone to DS1 yesterday and so that brings me to a nice round 70 so far this year. Happy days.:T

DD has now gone back to uni so her room is now available for stripping out and laying some floor to transform it into my sewing room. I would like it to be done in the next three weeks or she won't have a place to sleep:rotfl: I have agreed with myself that it doesn't necesarrily need a total repaint but just touching up and the floor, a dark purple carpet will be repolaced with a laminate one. It will look a lot brighter. ,

All her furniture is going into the Room of Doom that is half cleared. At this point there I have decided that if we can get the floor laid and all the furniture from the RoD that is for the sewing room is transferred, then she will be able to use the RoD, now nearly bare as more furniture will be coming out in the end than staying in.

Anyway. DH doesn't know this is my plan yet so it may not happen.::o

Not sure if this helps irishrose but years ago mum had a persistent abscess. One night she was so fed up she sat up and spent the night taking mouthfuls of hot water (as hot as she could bear) with TCP. She was holding it in her mouth then spitting it out. She just kept repeating it and after a while it burst. I think it was a last resort but it worked.

I hope you feel better soon.
