My smellies / hygiene stash is reducing in quantity, I have said that I must use most of it up before buying any more.

I'm doing well in that department too. I found a stash of 5 shaving gel packs I bought my husband at the back of his wardrobe so I am using them up too!:D

I clean it the best i can then every couple of weeks i go to Morrisons and hand it to customer services. Thats all plastic that cant be recycled not just Morrisons branded plastic.I was nervous first time i did it but lady on desk spoke to manager and he said what she had to do and never had an issue since.:T

Well done on being brave - I would be very self-conscious but the amount of unnecessary plastic I see in there is shameful.

all the others wont take it back so hopefully it will encourage them to reduce or change it.I only have Morrison's and Sainsburys near me that you can take a box to fill on meat and fish.Tesco have closed counters down.

I would urge everyone to look at the Terracycle website and find a local collector .i know its not the answer to the problem but at least it prevents a large number of things we all have going to landfill and supports good causes.

  • Yay sold 1 item on Eb.. and when collected buyer looked at some stuff I had not yet listed and bought 4 items there and then, cheaper than I would have listed but what the h... Also sold my large SC to cleaner for £5, she would have paid more but she is collecting her bottom drawer and I do not use it now so no problem. Given 2 gifts to dgs' for their b'days and another ready to wrap, also emptied 2 bins into wheelie bin, eaten 2 long time items from freezer. Small inroads but trying still.
  • Hello everyone, hope all is well.

Thank you Mrs SD! My DDS are priceless anyway!

Managed to get some more decluttering done:
    145-146: coat hangers - recycled
    147-150: old bolts- binned
    151: pen uu
152: card from kids snacks- recycled
154-155: empty DVD cases - binned
    156: top - CS
157-163: DDS cuddly toys, eldest wanted a woody from toy story cuddly (little one) and the condition was that she had to give some of her toys "to the other babies" (she is nearly 4). Really proud of her!
    Woody was bought today.

:D Well Done Gem-gem The only trouble is that it always takes soooo long to use up smellies & hygiene stashes

Apart from two soaps, I haven't bought any shower gel etc since January.
In some way I am pleased that it will take a while to use up - means that I haven't got to it :D

Morning i am trying to do the same but cant seem to stop myself getting more when i get it on cashback or rtc.I do give a fair bit away to my children to save them money .
I love the fact that i have now found a local lady that collects items to raise money for a local school by sending them to Terracycle. So all my shampoo/conditioner washing up liquid lids,Crisp packets the list could go on all go to her.My rubbish bag for landfill is now non exisitent.( i give all other plastic back to Morrisons ):)

I am so envious that you have found someone who collects plastic / raise money from it. Also that your landfill rubbish is non-existent.
I am also trying to work on the principle of buy less, less to discard later!

I only gave two shower gels left.
In the bath we use soap. We have LOaDS of soap.
Also have three big containers of shampoo and conditioner - hopefully will keep me going till the end of the year.
Body lotion - using up last of gift then on to the stuff that I bought.
