Just spotted this on PePiPoo. My apologies if this has been reported here previously as either a thread in its own right, or a link in a post to an existing Indigo PCN thread.

Indigo appear to have now signed up with ITAL (wasn't that a crap Morris car model in the 70s? :)) who are now the second stage 'independent' appeals provider. Given their links to Indigo, they would seem to be about as independent as the IAS is from IPC operators!

There are various twist and turns in the saga now unfolding on PePiPoo, that regulars might like to appraise themselves of, and it's going to be very interesting to see how this lot all unfolds. There seems to be the potential for Indigo, ITAL, ZZPS/WH, the BPA and POPLA all disappearing up each others' posteriors. Curiouser and curiouser said Alice. :)

An understanding of this current shift in manouevring might be useful when advising future Indigo PCN OPs.

Thanks for that. Just been through the thread and was forming the opinion that ITAL was going to be some sort of second level appeal (helpful in running down the 6 month clock). But I then got to the BPA's reply and I'm a lot less sure.

Indeed, I had one in Rangoon, I sold it for £2,000 more than I paid for it

You must have got £1,500 then! :D

Unless you were paid to take it from the garage, you were done. And there's me thinking you must have been a pretty sharp negotiator in your prime!

My first company car was an Ital, and did the job, though not very well, until a wheel fell off! Sounds very similar.

I like the idea of a dual appeal. The chaos could be interesting.

    FURTHER UPDATE

POPLA now seem to have slinked away from the Indigo/ITAL arrangement. The following new thread on PePiPoo brings things up to date.

  • I wonder if the person that drafted the letter regarding POPLa appeals - indigo , knows that the company have gone behind her back and are using a alternate (non BPA) appeal setup

those are the details from the letter she wrote to POPLa stating "game on"

she may know , she may not , but how about us reminding her , that we the brit public are not going to fall for this trick

It all seems to be a total mess, I wonder what a Judge would make of it.

  • I am trying to find correct legislation

from memory (pofa 2012) , bpa set up - appeal thru popla , later the clownsrus set up ipc and were scrutinised by gov departments and granted licence to offer a [STRIKE]non [/STRIKE]appeal service

cant recall ITAL having made such a request to goverment REGARDING private parking tickets

whats to stop , (for example ) parking eye from forming a company , as an appeal service , and then saying from now on , all appeals thru our appeal service - no popla

in the past (ipc) when asked for an alternative appeal coz you dont trust micky mouse , they reply "as members of IPC we are only able to offer one appeal , this is pinky and perky "

There is a list of all approved ADR providers here https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/main/?event=main.adr.show2

I'm not sure if I'm looking for the correct entity but I can't see ITAL on the list.
